My Auburn connection, former QB (Cobb), says Kiffen is their guy. In addition there may be as many as 10 Ole Miss players making the immediate transfer.

i dunno. seems like a lateral move and a lateral move with increased expectations and a bully big brother to deal with. makes zero sense to me, but then again Lane hasnt been known for making the best decisions. this would be another poor one. he should stay put and wait for a big time job to come open.

Even if Auburn won by 40, there is a below zero chance Cadillac is hired on as head coach. It's a bad idea and everyone knows it. The AD has to pretend like he's considering it, but there's no way he is.

Nor should he be considered. If Cadillac wants to be a head coach, he needs to start with a small school like all the others.

Agreed

Watching Cadillac on the sidelines during the game illustrates his role which is closer to cheerleader than head coach.

It’s a great story and there’s certainly somewhat of a reason to consider it but it’s a bad idea. I compare it to the interim coach that wins a few games and gets the job only to be fired two years later and most of them had much better resumes.

I’d rather have Freeze than Kiffin, and Kiffin than Rhule. Rhule’s best days are behind him, I’m afraid

And his best days are literally two good seasons(one at Temple and one at Baylor) surrounded by terrible ones. He is the biggest sham in coaching history. Basically Taggert with a hoodie.

I just said spice things up, not that he would get the job. And it certainly will. ESPN blowhards will be clamoring for it as will the same ilk that fall into the Bill Cowher category of virtue signaling by lamenting the horrors of not playing by the race rules for considering a black HBC and how it's a disgrace to the profession. Not to mention the bald headed bastard from Finebaum.

Lane himself says it's not true. Knowing him it's semantics and he's doing it Saturday night instead.
@Lane_Kiffin: That’s news to me Jon. ‍♂️. Nice sources

A realtor in the comments claims to have shown him houses yesterday....

Depending on what the money looks like, who cares. Go there, **** the bed like Mac and Dan then never have a meaningful coaching job again.....ride off into the sunset!

The thing is I think Kiffin actually wants to coach and be successful. He doesn't strike me as a guy just trying to trick a team into a payday only to kickback and wait to be bought out. I mean he made some pretty big money at usc already and did a lot at the low levels after to get back to the bigs. That doesn't scream just give me money so I can chill.

I need a gig like this. Fail upwards into millions of salary and a stupid big buyout when I fail. What a failure I am for not pursuing a career in coaching.

Fwiw, I always believed that you could totally fail if ever given the chance. You had “fail upward” written all over you. Unfortunately, the opportunity just never presented itself.

He does have the word 'altitude' in his username so....your 'fail upward' analysis checks out.

He met with his players yesterday and told them he wasn't leaving. You have to think it isn't happening and that Freeze will get the tab.

Yes, I’m sure Kiffin wouldn’t be dishonest about anything. No sir, no way.

Hell, I viewed that meeting as confirmation that he was leaving for certain.

If Kiffin really wants to stay at Ole Miss (which I doubt), he would be an utter fool not to use this opportunity to get a HUGE raise and an extension.
