Ahh, I assumed they came after Rolodex
Nooooooooo! Before. Rolodex was a "brilliant" upgrade of that original. Funny thing is, it used to piss off "Evil Grandma who hated Detroitgator over his siblings" when I would slide that selector on hers up and down and then push the button at the bottom to make is snap open (and it would REALLY pop open)... that pissed her off almost as much as cycling the "flip clock" posted earlier 1000 times... f grandma!

Michigan had 10 cents per can/bottle... I also remember collecting Coke bottles specifically for what plant was stamped on the bottom of the bottle and trying to collect them all.
Remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer and Newman were going to make a killing gathering bottles/cans in NY and sell them in MI for the extra nickel?

Good stuff.

We would walk up to the Sing Station about a mile from our house. Along the way we would collect the bottles to get the .5 return so we could buy candy and a slushy.
On that note: remember flinging bottles and other **** out of your windows? Can't get away with that like you used to. Kids these days have no aptitude, attitude nor ability to litter!

Iron Eyes Cody, the "Indian" from that commercial was Italian-American. He just portrayed the part of an Indian.

Anyone feel lied too?
Schit, he was about 1000x more "believable" as an Indian than any of the white actors in 1950's Westerns, and about 10000x more believable than any of those FSU fuktards that have dressed up as Chief Doucheola over the years.

Staying on the “kids these days”, how about the one episode—exactly one—where Screech was Italian. And of course, he made spaghetti sauce from his grandmother’s secret recipe, which Zach of course exploited by selling to HS classmates whose lives suddenly centered around marinara and who frantically chased him down the hall to purchase it. If you recall, the commercial they shot featured Screech dressed up as an Italian man(mustache, it’s really all you need), and ending his words “a” for authenticity. Outside of not mentioning something about a potential connection to organized crime, I’m not sure there wasn’t a stereotype they didn’t touch on. And then the following week, he went back to being just regular, quite obviously Jewish-American Screech. Fun.

K-Tel Records - The Spotify of the 70s As seen on TV!

Such great classic songs that could never be made today:
A-hab the A-Rab (sheik of the burning sands)
Little Eeefin Annie
My Boomerang Won't Come Back
Shaving Cream
and many others lost to time and memory

And yes, in a cabinet somewhere in my house, I have this album...
