Texas looking at introducing a gold standard currency
Wouldn’t that be unconstitutional?

Article 1, Section 10

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

Probably but what smart states are starting to do is put more of their state pension funds into physical gold...

TBH honest this is the first I’ve heard of it being unconstitutional….to me that’s no different than making crypto legal tender…if it’s unconstitutional then all the red states will be in violation of it but I’m sure there is more going on than we know right now

Did you actually read the constitutional cite I posted? I’ll cut to the chase for you; it is illegal.

I am not disputing that....my argument is why aren't MSM and the Dems shouting it from the rooftops? The only logical reason I can fathom is the red states know how to do it within the constitutional framework

Or it’s because the red states haven’t taken any actual steps to making it happen yet. I for one would have to side with the Dems and MSMs on this one. We do not need or want states coining their own currency.
