Jordan Ross (huge target) - his mother is a teacher and academics are important to her.

They’ve been blown away by the visit.

I am hoping that Jordan is the one out of every ten recruits that says academics are important and actually means it.

His fumble recovery in the end zone off the Arkansas muffed punt helped spring us to the SEC title in 2006. Basically his only big play.

But I always reference his recruitment to show how far UF’s ability to impose its will has fallen. We basically had to fight off village warlords and genocidal political leaders of Haiti to get WPL in to the 2006 class. Fast forward 10 or so years and Mullen couldn’t even get a kid from the Bahamas enrolled. The Bahamas. At any given moment, we send four boats an hour off the Florida coast and call it a 51st state by that evening, and yet they’re over here making Mullen grovel and laughing at us. Just terrible.

I wish I could like this ten times.

Sadly there seems to still be a few out there that believe Mullen was doing a good job.

It shows that Katie Turner heard that the parents were forgoing their anniversary for the visit & sent her minions to make them a nice surprise. It’s a bit over the top. Some champaign, strawberries, flowers and a card would have sufficed. If their son signs, it’s a win. If we’re that on top of our game, we’re definitely moving in the right direction and will win more than we have been lately.

I'm not sure I get why someone would post this as the evidence seems to go against the argument.

While I don't think it's that big of a deal, of the 5 teams that had 10+ visitors, we were the only one that didn't get a commitment.

Im not saying dont win over the parents, but how bout doing it by simply being a good group of coaches, taking an interest, being honest with the kid and his family, really impressing them on campus visits and gamedays, etc. What was shown above is absolutely cringe worthy. A football staff decorating a hotel room and a freaking bed with rose petals and laying out champagne and hors d'oeuvres for some kid's parents cuz it's their anniversary? Good Lord
