I know you're sensitive about my take here, but it really seems like part of you is enjoying all of this. There's a lot of people on here that seem to be having the time of their lives after that game, just as I suspected there would be. There isn't a single question in my mind that people like @Gatorbait25 are happier with the outcome than they would have been with a victory. His feeling of some kind of vindication is high.

There are people on here that would be secretly (possibly even openly) disappointed if our Gators beat Tennessee in two weeks. We have become addicted to misery.
There's definitely some vindication feelings from posters who were beaten and ridiculed mercilessly all year for daring to state the obvious and admit what we all saw plain as day. But if you want to spin it as posters happy we continue to suck and lose, go ahead and do you. It wouldn't surprise anyone.

Oof!
We sucked, shot ourselves in the foot more than once, gifted them 21 points, couldn’t run the ball.
A difficult game to watch. Other than that, the defense wasn’t too terribly bad. Billy still needs an OC so he can concentrate on other details; like making sure the ST coordinator doesn’t play two #3s at the same time. D’oh!
I’m still a believer in Billy Ball. Not happening this year, but recruiting is on an uptick so I’m optimistic, to a degree.
Go Gators!

Not a lot to be positive about, but Caleb Douglas’ TD was impressive. He just looked like a Terrell Owens, Megatron, Keyshawn (minus the mouth) WR that’s just bigger, stronger and badder than any DB

Got my eye on him

Just beware. There are going to be posters who harp on your post and make all kinds of homophonic jokes with that final line. Disregard them and simply move forward.

Also, consider perhaps rewording that last part as it’s extremely creepy and super gay sounding.

This is a good point. While the rest of the football world was rightly skeptical about Napier's Gators in year two, we have been forced-fed fake positivity by boss-man, Ox. He ridiculed anyone who rightly pointed out we will likely struggle bigly this year.

There are a lot of adjectives or ways to describe Thursday night but me being pleased isn’t on the list . I hate Napier because he sucks at his job and seemingly doesn’t care . At no point in any of our embarrassing displays of football has he ever looked bothered by any of it . Most of our problems have little to do with talent and mostly deal with poor preparation and dreadful mental mistakes . Hell we can’t even get lined up properly on either side of the ball. It makes me sick .

I've come to the conclusion that Billy doesn't know how to fully utilize gifted athletes. He's the kind of guy that, if something works, you'll see it once a game but goes conservative the next play. We have speedy, shifty guys, and big, strong WRs. But he won't spread the field, won't create mismatches, and will use sets that bunch together with blocking TEs. He's an up-the-middle guy on crucial plays and rarely goes around defenses. What a great OC could do with our roster.

I'm trying to gauge how you really feel... like, just a little tummy ache, or is it worse than that? Please refer to the chart below...

It ain’t spin. There are posters that are happier when misery abounds. However, I’m glad you feel vindicated now. Congrats? It’s more than obvious you aren’t the only one happily vindicated, that was completely my point.

I really don’t give much of a **** anymore. I’ll just step aside and do the bare minimum to keep this place running. I no longer have fun getting down into the mud with everyone else.

If the site wasn’t making me a few bucks on the side I would just shut her down. It’s only one click.

So you go ahead and do you. It wouldn’t surprise anyone.

At least Durty’s post pushed me to finally make a decision about the future of this board. Look for a thread soon about Gatorchatter being pay-only access. Details to come.

You’ve mentioned this twice about people being happier to be miserable. I won’t speak for every single poster, but I actually don’t think it’s that for 99% of us. I think what you mistake for happiness is still very deep rooted frustration. We all want to see UF win and don’t care who brings it even if it isn’t out to choice. This isn’t an ltraz situation. But what we’ve also become over the last decade or so is very adept to the signs. I’d say we’re damn near professionals at spotting incompetence or an unwillingness to win. To reference that article again, that’s what those 50 paragraphs ultimately said—UF fans can spot this sh*t from a mile away. That’s what you’re seeing. I won’t go broken record mode again, but I want this hire to be the hire for us. My kids are suffering through garbage yet again after a brief semi reprieve on ‘18-19. Having been a teen in the 90s and a young adult in the mid 2000s, I hate it for them and it’s literally all they’ve known. But I won’t stick my head in the sand. And my issues that I’ve touched on today were very apparent back then. It’s as maddening as it is infuriating that we keep hiring guys who are totally content to go 3 and out here while making millions. But that’s where our frustration should be centered. Not on each other here. I threw out YL because he was an arrogant, pompous person. I think he might’ve been trans as well, but that’s not the point. We’re all friends and want the same thing, and games like Thursday simply hurt. No need to shut it down and go extreme. The fact that we still care enough to be pissed is something to build on. I don’t think a prostitute is in order, in part because of your wife, but also because she might be freaked out when she sees Jabba the Hut playing chess with Robocop in your living room. Just maybe a beer and let’s circle back tomorrow.

Sadly yet again, the signs are there.

Ox, I can't believe that you truly think anybody is happy to lose. Everybody, everybody loves winning. But in order to win there has to be some basics in place.

A lot of the press and noise in the system goes as "Florida keeps chasing coaches off". I disagree with that. We have hired people who should not have been coaching. Muschamp should never have been given a chance, Mac was super iffy, Mullen was what he was. Billy is the only one who really looks like he could be the guy. The problem is A. The product on the field right now, and more specifically B. That it has followed 3 terrible hires. Billy actually has a winning pedigree. I hope he can do it. I think he needs to make a transition from sun belt to sec but I think he can do it.

He has also had a bad run of luck, totally outside of his control. We have a situation that has gotten totally out of hand here at Florida. Us fans are dealing with it in many different ways. Even you. But nobody wants us to lose.

I didn't even watch sports until my first year of UF. I could go back to never watching another game and not miss out on much. But yet here I am, and being upset is so much better than not caring. At least I care enough to be upset. People express that in many different ways.

If we were on top again and people were poo-poing the team then yes, toss them out. Even you have to admit we've had more robust traffic in the last week than all summer man! Chin up, we'll climb back up. Just wait til next year. Lol

Everyone can see you hitched your wagon full sale to this neanderthal and trashed anyone for a solid year who didn't sing his praises. We've had this convo before. Now that it's become pretty clear he's another complete dud you want to change the narrative from "i was wrong and now it's my turn to take some medicine" to "you guys just hope Florida sucks and celebrate when they do."

You are right about one thing tho. Hardly anyone gives a :kiffin: anymore and why should they? The UA, AD and coaches sure don't. And the fans, especially the serious ones, have almost nothing left in the tank. Anger is about the only thing left fueling them, but anger can be a pretty potent fuel.

Make it a pay site, boot folks who don't have positive outlooks, etc. It's your board.
