There's nothing like a prospective AD thread, where viable candidates like Sammich Ala Ham and Donald Trump get analyzed and the CPA code of ethics is recited in the OP. Scintillating discussion, I'm tell you. Very, very scintillating.

If he can pull in ryan day then I'd say hell yeah
he already did that. he'd be redoing it. but dont limit yourself to day b/c you know what he's about already. see, the whole point in hiring urb is that we can sit back and relax knowing whoever he hires known or not, is gonna get it done.

Raising money IS NOT the job of the AD. IT's the booster org. job! His job is to have the cajones to make the tough decisions and follow through I.E the Ad at aTm

It is both of those things.

They are not mutually exclusive. Making the right hires helps raise the funds. Otherwise, you have to sell the "process" to people with $ that know it is BS.

I can’t believe you people aren’t giving more credence to taking a hard look at Sammich Ala Ham. His work at at the University of Amman, Baghdad Tech, and Cairo State was legendary. For God’s (Allah’s?) sake, think outside the box for once!

UF is terrified of any employee embarrassing them. The idea that they would ever hire Urban effing Meyer as ATHLETIC DIRECTOR is incredibly insane, even for us.

Durty has finally lost his mind.

This is 100% correct.
UF would rather continue to lose and console themselves by losing with dignity. This virtue is much more valuable than winning.

I think having urban head up the search committee to hiring coaches wouldbe a decent idea. Maybe. His final staff here sucked ass though.
But also, I don't think urban is gonna be able to be the ass kissing fund raiser you need to be as an AD.

Nor would he want to be. You really think he would take that job?

Urban coming back as AD is about as likely as Durty's wife being a virgin. The administration doesn't want any kinds of issues or bad press.

I will point out that many of the long time Gator boosters, many past players actually loathed Meyer when he was coaching UF. He is an arrogant POS and seems to leave a real mess in his wake. I am certain UM will never set foot on campus in any position funded by UF.

While I don't doubt that all, the utter embarrassing crapfest since he left and the current state of the program may have changed some minds. I think some of those same boosters who hated him would probably cough up millions of their own money now to get him coaching at UF again. They've realized winning is more important than arrogance.

The "mess" Meyer tends to leave in his wake is an overflowing trophy case.

Yes it is and the administration, as those who have close ties have expressed, will never go for someone like a Meyer, Kiffen, Miles, Petrino to lead the program again. How vested the administration is for fielding title winning football/ basketball teams seems like wishful thinking not supported by factual evidence. BN is going to be here for at least the next two seasons regardless of how inept we perform the next two weeks!

Sucks to actually wear "big boy pants" and be aware of reality, doesn't it? :fistbump:
