The athletic director and president were not in attendance at yesterday's presser. It wasn't called by the university, only the coaches themselves. I heard someone from the local media on Zarzous and McElroy Sirius 84 this morning say they were surprised to see this and that nothing was accomplished by the press conference.
I'd be willing to bet my life savings they didn't all come together and decide to do that presser. They were directed to by their employer.

Several of the coaches at the press conference were for women's sports. I've wondered how this 'culture' would have effected a legend like Pat Summitt if at all, since I imagine she (and her program) were protected from it. Despite TN's love of football and claim to be a historical program, Women's Basketball was THE sport where they were dominant, and they did so under her to the point of naming the court after her (which the men's team plays on). I take any of the women's coaches comments with a huge grain of salt in that I doubt they were subjected to this 'culture', unless the Athletic Dept Staff treated their coaches like they did their trainers.

Pat Summitt wouldn't have remembered.

Too soon?

The AD, Hart is very experienced at all this from his time being AD at the Clown School.

His strategy will be to deflect waiting for the next school whose sh!t hits the fan.

Butch would be out of there with a chancellor that wanted to get things right.

Dead man walking.

No way he survives this. It's too bad. Every time Tinerc hires a new coach that's just one more slight chance they won't hire an incompetent one.

It looks like 8 women have joined this lawsuit thus far and from some quick googling it looks like about $1 million per claim is a typical award in these kinds of cases. Butch's contract runs through 2020 at $4 mil a year, so ultimately UT will probably save money from not having to fire him next year or the year after.

There is something inherently wrong with this.

The last UT coaching search was a side show. Do you honestly think it'd be different now with this $hit storm brewing?!

But I'd prefer to see him stay.
You gotta admit it was pretty funny to see coordinators and highschool coaches turning that job down.

They're encouraging survivors to continue to come forward.
As a female, this kind of stuff is really hard to read about. Especially if you read comments on all forms of social media. It's a wonder anyone who has ever been a victim comes forward, and help them if they do because their life becomes hell. It's a shame.

While I don't know what happened you have to wonder why so many women have similar stories. To instantly assume they're lying because these athletes would never do anything wrong is just terrible. It becomes more and more discouraging every day to enjoy the sports that I grew up loving because of the blind hero worship and adulation we give these people.

At least you can take solace in the fact that the NFL is taking a zero tolerance approach moving forward. You don't get to go to the combine if you've been convicted of a violent crime against a woman. Instead, they'll fly you in on their private jets for individual workouts.

Pretty damning stuff in this article. Former employees spilling the beans.
Check out this article from USA TODAY:

Two more women join University of Tennessee sexual assault lawsuit

https://www.tennessean.com/story/sp...4/women-join-ut-sexual-assault-suit/80860462/

I'd say the comments about cheek by a former vice chancellor are the most damaging. He says cheek ignored his warnings about the culture there. This is more than just victims coming forward. A vice chancellor is supporting their claim.

Meanwhile, all their efforts to keep players eligible have resulted in zero titles and an 11 year losing streak to UF.

I agree completely Queen.
Even if these accusations turn out to be true, people will continue to defend them and adore them. Is does make it harder to enjoy being a fan

And I'm currently taking abuse from men for speaking my mind on Facebook. Ah, the joys of being a woman speaking out against sexual assault.
