Nobody on this board wants to see the Gators lose or anyone fail.......But a lot of us are skeptical after the last 5 or 6 years.. We've seen some pretty bad coaching(Muschamp) and the jury's still out on Butters.......BUT make no mistake about it, he's on the clock.
This is something that shouldn't have to be said to the pumpers. But I think it's important to reiterate. Nobody was just after this guy from the start. He dug himself a hole. Mac has had plenty of chances (firing Nuss amongst other things) to start getting himself out. We all want the team to win every game. But we shouldn't suck on offense this many years in a row. It's beyond ridiculous when you start looking at the offense closer too. Good thing is that I think we're very talented.

I agree with everything said, except for one thing - " we shouldn't suck on offense this many years in a row". That's 2 years under Mac. I wasn't thrilled about his hire, but I didn't see anybody else better that was available at the time. I said then, and I say now: as long as there's steady progression and achievement, he should have three years before anyone makes any ultimate evaluation of his job performance, given the gutted roster left by Muschamp. This upcoming season is his third. Calling 2 years "this many years in a row" is beyond ridiculous, and something that shouldn't have to be said to anyone.

Disagree. There is no excuse for having a 100th ranked offense two years in a row. There should at least be improvement from year one to year 2, and there was none. Mac needs to compensate for this by making major strides in year 3.

They sure practice slant passes an awful lot for never running that play in the game.

No,no. They ran one in a game last year that went for a TD. No idea of who was on the receiving end as I'm not overly familiar with Arkansas' roster. But they did run it.

Oh yea fire the coach after he wins two Eastern
Division and see how many of the really good coaches want the job. And there is the possibility CM could turn out to be a really good coach. Right now we should be pulling together in every way possible. Some on here would never do that. They cannot entertain a positive thought on the Gators. I'm glad I don't live a miserable life like that. I have been married to a very negative person for 54 years. All she ever sees is the negative. She can't help herself. But I have not let her effect my thinking. It's sort of a disease like alcoholism. They don't admit they have it. Thank God when you wake up to a wonderful day.

We heard the same thing about Muschamp at the end of 2013 with those miserable offenses. People said we were idiots besides the offense in 2012 being what it was because we went 11-1 pre-bowl. You can't just ignore it. If he doesn't turn the offense around this year he should be gone imo even though he won't be.

We kept Muschamp an extra year we shouldn't have. Mac has all his players for the offense now there should be no excuses there.

I feel like I'm in a time warp back to Muschump's days. Even during that 4-8 season you had people saying no one has ever experienced that many injuries in the history of college football. All kinds of crap. This is Mac's do or die year. Either he swims or sinks. He'll probably get a 4th year regardless of this year's results but we'll know all we need to know about Mac THIS year. No more excuses. Another 4 loss year and we aqll know that he's a 4 loss SEC coach and that's he'll ever be. Mac is recruiting well finally. Great to see. Now, let's see him win some big games. Mmm'K?

Any word on Ivey's injury and if he is able to particpate in practice yet? If he isn't 100% or Jordan has to take his place we might be in big trouble against Michigan. They have some DE's that can get after the QB. Jordan isn't that bad but I doubt he can hold his own against Gary etc. This could be on top of the RG issue we are probably going to have against Hurst.

Exactly, just who would anybody suggest we had a realistic chance of getting as HBC, now I do think the assistants could have been better and still can be improved.

Donkeys don't really count either.

We will never get anyone so long as we insist on hiring at Sunbelt or WAC. I know by our current mindset no ACC or Big Ten coaches are available to us. Imagine if we thought that way in the 80s.

My favorite excuse not to fire a coach. Because no decent coach will wanna come here. I guess it's a good thing we gave muschamp a 4th year. We woulda never been able to steal the offensive wizard from the mountain west!

Yeah. Its true. No decent coach would want to come here. Then when we finally fire the incompetent guy hire a new one then the new one can't win because the last guy was so bad and took us to such terrible depths.

With the delay in firing WM, CM came in so late it is wrong to count his first year as a normal year. I would say this is his 2 1/2 year if there is such a thing. He put a coaching staff together in the very worse conditions possible. Add on how WM took us down to the lowest level possible. The slow firing of WM affected a lot of Gator fans for several years. It's still affecting some on this board. They can't help but think it's happening all over again. It was indeed a bitter pill to swallow. WM made me sick. I'm over him now.
I cannot see Michigan beating us after losing 15 starters and this being their first game. That's a lot to overcome. Harbaugh doesn't really impress me. Some coaches are in the right place at the right time. Time will tell. I won't be surprised if he doesn't fulfill their expectations.

So if Michigan wipes the floor with us again?
