SOS has made one comment about Frost...basically telling Frost that his style of offensive play would be highly desirable considering UF has not had any offensive imagination that the last 3 years under MAC and the 4 years prior under Muschdump.

It also hints at what a "fun" high scoring offensive can achieve at UF...3 nattys...SEC conference championships...Heismans...highly ranked recruits...high draft picks...back to prominence...

SOS is a legend; Urban (aside from how he left and where he is now) is a legend...come be a legend!

SOS is a smart cookie!

I watched a fair amount of tape of Norvell's offense last night. It's a helluva lot prettier than Frost's.

Biggest question is can he recruit the Jimmy’s and joes needed for it here. I know frost has the personality but does Norvell?

@DK_Thompson: Scott Frost has gone from +500 to -130 in 48 hours.

Lots of money on Frost. #Gators

The "Frost-style" is hands-on the ball, feet on the field, face in front of players' faces. No way our young athletes won't respond best to that. We want that best. Furthermore, we can bet Frost's enthused drive will have to be also carried by each & all his staff. That is what UF deserves. Those type of Gators are what the SEC deserves.

#1 recruiting class for non p5 last year.

Did not realize that. Seals it for me.

He should be hired yesterday.

*edit. I thought it was Frost that had the #1 non-P5 class. I prefer Frost to Norvell, so my post now makes little sense.

If UF wanted to be cheap (and I'm not advocating this), they could keep Shannon on as HC and hire two quality coordinators. Possibly put Rumph in at DC if he shows he can handle it (plus he gets to coach w/o the recruiting burden). Move Skipper back on offense at TE coach, because the TE coach doesn't do a lot but Skipper can recruit, and I haven't seen a lot of LB development. Let Shannon take on the LBs. Fire Nord and Dixon. Keep Seider and Davis. So we'd retain Seider, Davis, Skipper, Bell and Rumph. That leaves 5 spots open I think with the new rule. Who would you go after to fill out that staff? I actually think you could get a pretty good product on the field with a few right hires.

Again, not advocating this, but if we strike out, I like this plan with the right hires better than a Taggart or Mullen.

I’ve thought of this as well. Not so much to be purposely cheap, but if we were to strike out on our top 3, maybe 4, candidates. Zero reason to go any deeper than that. Definitely now what I want, but as your last paragraph stated, it would probably be a better alternative to those options. Give him a short-term shot and reevaluate after 2018.
