Totally agree. But all-in doesn't equate to having to take a job when it might not be right? Not everyone is driven by $$$. I think the real thing he is turning down in his mind is he knows a NC at UCF isn't a possibility. That is the decision point he is probably looking at.

I don't know anything. I am not connected. I am just thinking through the thought of how apropos it could be to turn down the job at UF to stay at UCF.

I hope we get him ... or Kelly. To be honest ... those are the only two coaches that make my nipples hard.
We aren't talking about $$$. W're talking about generational wealth setting up your grandchildren. If he wants what's best for his family he takes the money now.

That says more about how you look at life and not how others look at life. I don't say that in a mean spirited way ... I just say that coming from years of my life being centered around motivating people to do stuff. Furthermore, if you are confident in your abilities, you are confident in making certain decisions that others will look at you like you are crazy. The dude is a winner.

He also almost certainly loves money just like all the rest of them. All coaches chase money.

If Chip Kelly is coming here you'll know it by Monday at the latest. Absolutely no reason it would not be announced by then.

That's not true. They have to come to terms on a contract. That may take more time.

Agree.

Bottom line is Scott Frost ain't coaching at UCF next year.

He'll be at Florida or Nebraska.

Nebraska lost to Minnesota today....Riley won't be coaching there next season.

He makes 2M per year unless he is foolish that is already enough money to be what you describe, now it is not say like a billionaire. What might be best for his family is not more year but something(s) else.

Well ... you'd think we would have heard some substantial stuff today about Chip Kelly to Florida. But I haven't heard anyone even mention it. Has anyone else? Seems weird one way or the other.

Did Franz just have a Bob Redman moment?

At least we can laugh at F$U they are stuck with dimbo and a $40 million buyout. They ought to pay their QB harzzardous pay. Or give his family a couple million dollar paid up life insurance policy.

It's gameday there is no way they are announcing anything today if they even have anything. It will happen early next week or it isn't happening

All??? I seem to remember a coach at say Penn State who did not, also I seem to remember SOS walking away from millions when success in the NFL was not in the cards.

Not everyone chases money, for some other things are way more important. Now Mac surely wanted money he did not earn.

They all chase money. Spurrier went with the Redskins because they offered him the most $$$.

How about that other example? And I seem to remember that only the owner of the Redskins was willing to roll the dice on the HBC.

Paterno was still making 7 figures, it wasn't like he was working for 12 bucks an hour.

Spurrier flirted with the NFL for most of his career. He left FL because it was a frustrating season for him (fans booing players, docket fiasco, thought he had best offense he ever had but didn’t play for title ) and he was ready for another challenge. Of course 5 million a year didn’t hurt.

It would not at all shock me if UCF ups their offer to within 2 million of UF and frost decides to stay there and ride that horse for as long as he wants or wait for me Nebraska to open up. UF gives you the best shot a winning a title down the road, but it is also the most likely to flush you out and make the life of your family a living hell. It really depends on how hungry frost is to win vs quality of life.

Kelly is a bit different in that he has immense cred and history but he could very well decide he doesn’t all the pressure and drama surrounding the UF job. By all accounts Kelly marches to a different drummer.

I’d love to get Kelly, I’d be happy to get frost but that is a dice roll, and I won’t be shocked if we don’t get either.

Frost is not waiting. UF will offer $4.2-4.8 million, possibly more for him to come to Gainesville and compete with Bama, LSU, Auburn, FSU and the big-boy likes.

He stands to have his ego and competitive drive stoked, his bank account stuffed, and if he has half a brain, which I happen to think he does, he'll readily accept.
