Do we have any EEs yet? I guess it only matters if we can land EEs that can countback to fill those empty seats from last year.

Unlike last year, when so many seemed to be EEing, I don't think I've heard one yet.

Hopper “110%” committed to the Florida Gators | GatorCountry.com

On Sunday night the Florida Gators coaching staff visited several of their commits on the first day of the contact period as they look to make sure everyone is still solid with Florida.

Linebacker commit Tyron Hopper (6-2, 205, Roswell, GA. High) was one of the guys who received a visit on Sunday and it was a good visit with his position coach.

“It was amazing, good visit,” Hopper said of his visit with Christian Robinson on Sunday. “We were just chilling and talking about everything. He’s coming back next week.”

Robinson and Hopper have a solid relationship that dates back over a year now so Sunday was just about catching up with each other.

“Nothing much really, just academics,” he said on the conversations with Robinson. “He was telling me about where he sees me playing at when I get there and just things like that.”

The Gators assistant coach broke down exactly where Hopper will play next year in Florida’s defense.

“He basically is telling me that if I’m good enough to play then I’ll play next year,” Hopper said on Robinson’s message to him. “I’m playing the same position as Vosean [Joseph], I’ll be doing everything that Vosean does.”

Robinson also explained to Hopper exactly what he needs to do in order to see the field as a freshman.

“I have to gain some weight,” he said on what he has to do before he gets to Florida. “Get speed up, gain some weight while keeping my speed up. That’s all I have to do to play.”

Hopper visited Florida twice this fall but he watched all of Florida’s games and he was impressed by the Gators defense.

“It was great,” Hopper said on Florida’s defense this year. “I can’t wait to be a part of it. I feel like I want to be a part of Coach [Todd] Grantham’s defense.”

Next up for Hopper is official visits as the linebacker commit debates whether to sign in December or not.

“I think I might sign early,” he said. “I might go to South Carolina but I’m visiting Florida on December 14th. Auburn maybe too.”

Auburn and South Carolina have been hard after Hopper since he committed but the linebacker says he remains solid to Florida.

“I’m 110 percent just like I was the day I committed,” Hopper said on his commitment to Florida.

I agree w/ you. A grad transfer player, if he was a contributor, would almost always be a better option than a JUCO who could be a flat bust. Look at Shuler. That kid was a savior for our defense. He didn't put up gaudy numbers, but he won the starting job and for the most part had a good year. I'd take 2 or 3 Shuler's every year!

The JUCO kid is getting a ton of attention right now. I'm not sure if that means he's good or there's some desperate teams pursing him.

He is also a very underrated dancer.

Harrison Bailey is commitimg to Tennessee or Meatchicken. That sucks.

Rivals.com - The final hours are here for Rivals100 QB Harrison Bailey

I find it fascinating that in any other profession, convincing (or even attempting to convince) a highly impressionable 17 year old to make a decision that, by all proven data, will at best delay his career, and at worst, destroy his future prospects at said career, would be considered as unethical and shameful as it gets.

In cfb, it’s considered being a great recruiter. And if you’ve successfully done this multiple times, you may even land a high paying job solely based on the ability that you might strike again.

They also got the stud WR from Fletcher HS.

TJ Jones is getting a few CB's to Miami as well.

We need to take back Jacksonville. It's inexcusable. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, and UGA have been plucking kids out of Jacksonville for at least the last 5 years. Needs to come to an end.
Jacksonville has been down lately.

I hope so. We could be in big trouble at rb next year. With perine and scarlett likely heading out, pierce is the only back I trust. Davis has durability issues. Clement fumbled and got stuffed in his only 2 carries. Wright will also be coming off of an torn acl. Hopefully Clements fumble was a fluke.

We are taking 2 RBs this cycle. Trey Sanders or DJ Williams in addition to Nyquan Wright.

We can/will use Toney for runs (RB). What about Copeland? That one time he got the ball with top speed he seemed to glide swiftly through the crowd. Brought back visual memories of Wes Chandlerism.??

Looks like Tee Martin was released by USC. Would love us to get him on staff.

Meh. I haven't seen this coaching brilliance everyone seems to be yapping about. I'll admit that despite that I'd love to have him here for a season to put him in a Gator polo on the sideline during the UT game...just to see them die a little inside.
