Recruiting 2019 NSD: 4* DE Khris Bogle and 4* CB Elam signs

I think it’s ridiculous the people on here comparing Mullen to macel****.....all I’ve been reading the past 2 days is “this is butters 2.0” gosh damn people the program actually looked like it was well run for the first time in 10 years. The program actually has a pulse now. No we didn’t get a top 2 class with 10 5* but shot I think the program is going in the right direction. And donkey stop posting your gosh damn negativity......I don’t need your gosh damn negativity

Look, I’m firmly behind Mullen but 6th ranked classes within our own conference simply wont cut it. He’ll be hunting a job in 2-3 years if he can’t recruit at an elite level. He did a fantastic job overall his first year, but 9 wins is probably our ceiling if we don’t have the horses to compete with the top half of the SEC.

The dumpster fire this program has become doesn't just go to the top in 1-2 years. Wake up ... its not Dec 2009. You have an obvious issue with using a calendar. You some how think it is Feb 6 2009. This class isn't done yet and we are crawling out of the dumpster we jumped into in 2010.

. . . you can't use that as an excuse for his 1st full year. Most say it's the most important class. Well his transition class had a better player rating than his 1st full class.

Did I black out for like, almost 2 months? Mullen hasn't completed filling this class - right? Isn't there a second NSD in February?

Speaking of Jalon Jones . I think I read somewhere that his dad is a preacher. The last two preacher sons that played qb for us seemed to work out pretty good.

I know I read somewhere that Diwun Black was a top 20 player. Sat out the year to get his grades in order and his ranking dropped. Anyone else have info on this?

I don’t think Watkins had any public issues prior to his arrest after signing. I could be wrong but other than grades I don’t remember anything about major character issues

Because aTm hasn't been a dumpster fire for the last 8 years? On the contrary, they have actually been pretty good in a very competitive division of a very competitive conference. Us on the other hand ... have been a big bowl of poo in the crappy division of the SEC for the last 8 years.

Also ... I think people really underestimate the $ that aTm has. I know this hurts people's feelings, but they have a higher ceiling than we do when it comes to boosters and stuff like that ... and Texas aint no slouch for recruits.

Texas A&M has been better the last few years and they have put millions upon millions into stadium and facility upgrades. They have invested a lot into their program. And fisher is one of what...4 active coaches that have won a NC?

A&M did not go 4-7 and 4-8 in the last 5 years. They fired their coach because he could not take them over the hump of 8-4 and 8-5 not because they went 4-7. Fisher might be able to recruit but he went 5-6 his last year and had 10-3 records the two years prior. The recruiting rankings for the 3 previous years for FSU were 3, 3 and 6. They should have been competing for championships.

A friend of mine (UGA Grad) is a moderator on the UGA 247 board... here are his thoughts on Elam... FWIW

"We have limited spots left and we’re probably getting the other elite Florida DB, Tyrique Stevenson (between us and Miami - and sorry, he’s not joining that ****show with Richt and their 37th ranked class, Kirby will win that one). We would have beaten you guys out on Elam I feel if Tucker hadn’t left to become Colorado HC. He was very tight with Elam. We’re still heavily in it, but it probably went from like 52-48 Georgia to 55-45 Florida because of Tucker leaving. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t commit to y’all."

Also remember Stevenson was a UF commit under Butters, but it was worth losing him. Oh.. yeah... he also told me that UGA was going to get Aubrey Solomon (transferring from UM).

I don't care if they think they would have beaten us out... I'm super happy if we get Elam for any reason... I actually think it is key.

Actually close to a BILLION dollars in facilities and salaries for the athletic department. Of course they share an oil based endowment of a couple of billion dollars with Texas.
