He isn't in the rear view mirror. He is sitting in the backseat.

Still trying to be a backseat driver.

This wait til they raise all the money and make football last scheme reeks of Fooley's influence.
We're left to speculate. The state media has done a nothing job of probing the goings-on of UF's athletic department in order to help the public understand the who/what/where/when/why of what's been done and what is to be done.

Then again, I'm speaking from a UF message board. That's my perspective.

Very ironic that our last two five-star recruits (Jefferson and Ivey) didn't get drafted today.....yet three of our lowest rated recruits from the class of 2016 did (Taylor, Polite, and Joseph). Hopefully Ivey and Jefferson can have a good training camp and stick on someone's roster like Trey Burton and Brian Poole were able to do.

Thoze werent the lowest ranked. Kyle Trash and Joe Putu were lowest ranked (2 star 5.4). Burnett and McWilliams were next (3 star 5.5).

Good chance Joseph gets cut.

I think Scarlet could be an excellent third running back on the team. Tons of energy and power to spell the starters.
He could develop into a good 3rd down back. He can block and catch. If you can do that you can have a long career.

He cant catch at all. It is why he was rated so low.

"Weaknesses

Suspended for 2017 due to theft by credit card fraud
Missed bowl game as freshman due to misdemeanor marijuana charges
Needs to play faster
Can be too indecisive in initial stages of the run
Vision runs hot and cold
Slow to trigger into downhill burst gear
Cuts play-side runs back into traffic rather than bursting to the edge
Punishing blows catch him cleanly over course of the game
Poor technique as pass-catcher with atrocious drop rate
Bad adjustments to swing passes outside the frame"

I’m happy for our guys who got drafted and hope they have great careers. While I think Ivey just never developed into an NFL caliber player and was no surprise, I really hate to see Jefferson left out because I think he was misused much of the time due to circumstances outside of his control.

It’s definitely not a typical UF draft, but these guys went through some pure garbage time and hung in. All of them had some key moments that helped ‘18 which enabled us to lay the groundwork for better days ahead. And outside of the CC thing, they were all decent kids. So hopefully they all go on to rep the Gators in whatever they do.

Ivey was pretty competent at guard and should move back.

CeCe I just dont know. At 6'1 and as slow as he is, he really should have beefed up and moved inside. Probably too late now

There’s no way the staff would do that. That would wreck confidence with parents and Recruits across the country.
On the flip side, the football coaching community is a fraternity where these guys are constantly networking. You don't want to lie to and mislead the same coaches and front office personnel who you may be relying on for a job in the future.

At guard Ivey was SEC player of the week at least once and maybe twice early in his career. He, too, was subject to forces beyond his control.

Of course, the recommendations are going to be honest. That is not surprising. What is surprising is that the staff didn't ask for "not for attribution" or, at least, discretion for such a negative recommendation. How many times have you seen such statements go public? Maybe the staff sent a message.

I can't recall a weaker Florida draft class.
2012. Top player drafted was Jaye Howard, in the middle of 4th round. I think Chris Rainey was the only other Gator drafted that year. Haven’t actually checked, but I’d be willing to bet at least one FCS school and a bunch of mid-Majors did better that year.

"It's more than just the bad combine, that caused his fall, he didn't get a good recommendation from the staff in Florida."
~ Pete Prisco

It is more than just him saying it. Multiple draft guys are reporting the same thing. One lying? Okay. But multiple draft guys lying? I doubt it. Brugler, Jeremiah, Davis...ect. I could go on.
