Canada shocked Australia today 90-70. Here are the quotes about Andrew Nembhard,

1. Kevin Pangos led the visitors with 18 points, including a few crucial buckets in the fourth quarter, while Andrew Nembhard came off the bench for 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists for a Canadian team that should feel good about defeating one of their Group H opponents.

2. Thomas Scrubb opened the second period with a three, in what continued to be the trend in the first half. Nembhard then came into the game and ran the show, doing an impressive job creating for himself and others off the pick-and-roll; the 20-year-old’s midrange jumpshot giving Canada the 36-27 lead.

From another article,

1. Nembhard, entering his second year at the University of Florida, added a team-high 10 rebounds and four assists.

"He gets places easy and I’m not quite sure how he does it," Nurse said of Nembhard. "I’m trying to figure it out. He’s got this head fake, he’s in, he’s out, he’s over, he’s around, and all of a sudden he’s into some clear space. He’s got a funky game a little bit, for a 19-year-old kid, a pretty good game."

It appears that this experience with the Canadian National Team will help Nembhard get drafted by Nurse and Toronto in the NBA draft next season...

I'm noting what appears to be a significant improvement on offense. I don't expect him to be dropping 30 next season. I do think he has improved enough so that opposing coaches can't ignore him like they did last year.

Hope it was only precaution and it was just a deep bruise.

Sounded like it was a knee to knee stinger. Had sharp one in my youth. Hurts like hell lessening as the day goes on. The problem is that it can allow your knee to be more vulnerable in future taps? Get well soon, Nembrandt; Florida needs your artistic strokes.

Nembhard is fine by the way. He played in their last exhibition game against the US. Also, here is an article on his time with the Canadian team.

Takeaways From Andrew Nembhard’s Summer With Team Canada So Far | GatorCountry.com

Here are the highlights,

1. One of the biggest things that struck me about seeing Nembhard play is that he looks a lot stronger. Driving to the hoop he was powering through defenders, and I’ll remind you that he was playing primarily veteran overseas players that will be much stronger than who he’ll see in college.

2. Last season Nembhard was a reliable ball handler who could get to his places on the floor and protect the rock against pressure. His ability to handle the rock was definitely better than the average freshman and I saw no problem with his abilities there.

That was Nembhard last season. This summer playing in this FIBA exhibition matches I saw a player looking to break ankles and destroy his man. There was far more sizzle in his game and the crossovers and between the leg dribbles he was using to beat his man one-on-one were unlike anything I saw from him last year.

I watched 3 of his games and echo everything in the article.

By the way, it wasn't really mentioned in Fawsett's article, but Nick Nurse has been playing Nembhard at PG, SG, and SF. He has done well in all 3 positions. This should give Mike White even more versatility.

Can’t wait for this season. Also Stokes sitting out this season could be a problem with his weight management. But if he really works hard and stays in shape he could help them once he’s eligible.

I assume you mean Memphis. Stokes is gone from UF as him and White did not see eye to eye. I assume it was about his work ethic or lack thereof.

Time to see if White can coach. This team is flat loaded with youth and experience. They can play great defense or score. Multiple guys can play difference positions. I'm excited as well.

Yes I was stating that sitting out a year in Memphis could be a problem with his weight and conditioning. He has some talent but don’t know how much he wants it.

Agree totally on how our team is constructed. A little bit of everything!

Well, let's hope by now Stokes realizes the habits that diminish abilities.??

Wait !... Is Nemby our only player honing his craft?
All this shows that Nudibranch's decision to return was perfect (even if forced on him). He'll be "shooting star" burning bright in the "sky-high" firmament of probably the most interesting team in CBB (is that an ok abbreviation, Insti?)

Nembhard is from Canada. So, he’s getting a unique opportunity to play in the world championship.
