We still have no idea if this team is any good at all.

Discuss.
That's right. We still haven't beaten anybody good. Miami and Kentucky both have turned out to be poor. South Carolina ran the ball right down KY throat and we couldn't move them at all and we certainly didn't blow Townsen off the ball. Auburn will tell us if the king has new clothes.

The Mullen Trap. Good enough because of his coaching and game-day management to win games we should win and some we shouldn't. Not good enough because of his recruiting to compete with the big boys.

Winning likely cures that.

It's obvious that we are good the question should be "Are we Great?"

Beat Auburn, Lose to LSU, Beat Cocky, Beat UGay.

Been saying it for weeks.

Georgia has two or three losses in them this year, one to ya will be one of them, probably Auburn and maybe TamU, too. Notre Dame is trash and almost beat them on the biggest home game they’ve had since Bama came to town.

LSU might be overrated, but Death Valley is a helluva place to play.

If we can put Burrow on his ass for most of the game, anything can happen though.

Hoping for 3-1. Watched Auburn really close last night. Mullen in going to have to bring in Max protection to contain 5. One thing I did see was that MSU was able to throw on them. If MSU did not spot them 21 points in the first 5 minutes it may have been a lot tighter. 'Barn has played some bigger names but they are beatable. If we are going to run on them it is going to have to come from the I and under center. and dammit, use Zipperer to block. Like what CDM did with that yesterday to try and get the edge. 'Barn has got some big boys, make their azz run to the perimeter. Getting our guys back on D will be huge. That plan is simple. Sell out to stop the run, make Nix stay in pocket, and when you get a pick six......don't drop it.

I see this game for UF to win is to play the best game thus far, no mistakes, get some running game, and Let Trask throw. D is going to have to get off the field on 3rd down and get us some turnovers and score at least once. 'Barn is susceptible to dropping games like this.

I am trying to stay positive...I am worried about the run game and a little concerned about Trask not feeling the pressure and taking sacks. Our defense looks lost half the time too. Its gonna be a long day. Hoping Mullen puts it all together.

Florida’s young players have a lot of potential but they’re raw, especially on defense and OL. And we lack depth in key areas. That’s not a recipe for success for any team.

I just don’t see us being able to get wins against more talented teams on our schedule this year.

We’ll likely drop all three against the bigger opponents but hopefully if we don’t look completely lost and then don’t drop a game against any of the other teams on our schedule then I’d say this young and growing team will have done well enough for this season given its glaring deficiencies. Any wins against the quality three will be a bonus.

Remember, after the holdovers and seniors departed after ‘91, Spurrier got thumped a few times in ‘92 and ‘93 while his team matured. And defense really didn’t become a staple on Steve’s teams until after ‘95. We scored tons of points that year but our opponents scored buckets on us every game, and when we ran into a complete team in Nebraska, we got bullied badly.

We remember the hbc’s glories but the 90s had some growing periods too.

I’m concerned we’re on a thin edge of being competitive until key injuries happen. Then we have the added grantham effect.

Our passing is much better than I expected

Our running game is abysmal.

Defense is feast of famine

Until next week who knows?

My biggest issues,

1. Kyle Trask. For the first time in years, I have hope at the QB position. There were instances against UK, UT, and Towson that I liked. He, pre-snap, read the blitz and immediately made the defense pay by throwing to the area the blitz was coming from. Franks rarely, if ever did that so quickly. But, we can all see his inexperience. How quickly can he adapt to the speed he is about to experience?

2. The right side of our o-line. I had high hopes for Bleich coming into this season. I love his measurables. But, he plays like a wounded puppy when it comes to the run game. And Delance? He is a train wreck mechanically. He gets to high, his feet are to far apart, his punch is weak..ect. He will need help or Trask will be spending a lot of time looking up at the clouds.

I could list a lot more, but those are the two big ones on my mind. On a good note, I think Forsythe has been a huge upgrade to Ivey. I'm very impressed. He needs help though.

Gator offense is rather one dimensional but I think that dimension is good enough to win the game; if we can make Barn's offense one dimensional by taking away the pass I like our chances. Of course that means Moon can't break containment like he did a couple of times yesterday and got burned by 'lil Flack.

People make tons of money in the stock market betting contrarian indicators and Auburn's stock is way, way overbought at this point. The slurping from national media is out of control, which is GREAT.

And considering that Henderson and Zuniga return, and that Trask appears to be increasingly make decisions and get rid of the ball quickly, Florida's oversold.

Game rests on whether Mullen can install a package of plays where Trask can get the ball out in <3 seconds. I think he will. He's only game planned for Trask as starter twice, and one thing he's shown is the ability to make adjustments, both over the course of a game and the course of a season.

I believe his pocket presence will improve. Keep in mind hasn’t played much football. This can improve on a week to week basis with someone with so little actual experience.

Coaching will really come into play this week. They have real strengths and we do to. Can we maximize ours while trying to neutralize
theirs? I LOVE games like this. Traditional rival at home with national implications.........does not get much better.

Need a very hostile crowd. Need Trask and team to remain calm with more attention. Post game, the players talked about playing clean. Need that in the first half, which means they did their jobs. Only worry about Auburn right now. We can win, we're not a gimme for them.

Trask will throw for 400+ on LSU.

IF, and this is a big IF, Mullen doesn’t do his we must call everything 50/50 BS. If Trask is pulling another team’s pants down don’t cock block him with forced inside runs to the right. Let him finish what he’s started.

I think this matchup is very intriguing. It feels like last year when we were matching up to play LSU. As a Gator fan I held out hope that we could stand toe to toe with LSU but I honestly wasn’t expecting to win. Oddly enough, I went to that game and felt like it was the most electrifying game I’ve ever attended.

This year against Auburn I feel like they’re a juggernaut with their defense and run game and I question how bad or good they are at throwing the pigskin. But my expectation for us against Auburn this year is much different than when our boys played LSU last year. Our defense can be scary good and I think our receivers and passing game is the heart of our offense. I hope we cater to that instead of ignorantly trying to shove the run in the game. If Trask plays a solid and smart game and we limit our turnovers then I have no doubts about us taking it to Auburn.

Unfortunately I can’t make it to this game, but I am positive the energy will be equivalent to that of last years game against LSU. For those of you going, you better scream your Gator hearts out!
