I think Joseph was the guy that was rumored to have really caught the staff off guard with his weight. Not sure he’s a take anymore and highly likely he chooses tenn.

I keep seeing these declarations of extreme difference here versus what’s done elsewhere. If its so bad, why has it generally worked? Not saying there isn’t room for improvement but I don’t think things are as extremely bad or out of line as people make them out to be.

I’m with you but there’s clearly a trend in his recruiting this year. Maybe trying to backfill from previous years or getting a bunch and hoping a couple contribute early? If nothing else, I think its clear that he’s tired of being outsized on the DL so maybe he’s overcompensating with this class.

There's ONE heavy DL that this staff brought in over the last two years on the roster. This isn't rocket science - they are back filling, period. It's also another reason Turner is doing so well recruiting - it's easy AF. "Hey, we only have one DT on the roster that's a sophomore or freshman. You wanna come play here? We can get you in real quick!"

Balance is a goal but it isn't a known commodity. Step back and look at the big picture ... its high school/JUCO/Transfer -> College -> NFL. Balance talent isn't a standard coming out of high school just like it isn't coming out of college. The only difference, high school kids can't declare early for college because they have to graduate. Yes ... they can early enroll, but they must graduate high school.

I don't follow this stuff like some of you do. I care but not that much. So my understanding may be skewed and wrong, but I believe you aholes will point that out really quick. But ... balance is fleeting. Is it a strong DL class coming out of high school this year? I think you might have to adjust how you take kids these days since it has become increasingly easier to move around teams while in college as well as how the shorter span a kid stays in college and goes to the pros. Take 7 DT ... 2 years from now hopefully we got 2 good ones left and the other 5 are somewhere else?

After the lack of DT commits over the previous 2 classes, I’m willing to cling to a sliver of hope that we’re not only trying to cover that deficit, but that even TG was able to see we’ve been soft in the middle and it’s up to him to fix it.
