It is okay @BMF, you did not have to try and cool it down and talk anyone off the ledge. Most of us already know Cousin Eddie and his total BS and incompetence. But unlike Tom Cruise, us here at GC can handle the truth. Good work though. Ever thought of becoming a sleuth in retirement. Here they were looking for someone of interest in your new area so maybe you can help them out?
Watched Jerry McGuire last night... i tear up like a pussy.

My mistake on my previous post. I heard Mrs. Mullen is shopping at the Sav-A-Lot in Bronson. That will be the downfall.

Years ago I used to be a big boxing fan. In boxing there are fighters who are known as "Journeyman". A Journeyman was a guy who had a good amount of experience, some technical skills but lacked either the desire, training, support or even the physical ability to challenge the top contenders within the sport....

Our program reminds me a lot of that term from the bottom to the top....
We've joined the "Bum if the Month Club." And no, we're not playing the part of Joe Louis.

BMF backpedaling like crazy.

Next he'll tell us that maybe she didn't REALLY say there was any division, just sort of halfway implied it. And maybe she didn't REALLY say people would be leaving the program, she said players would be taking a bathroom break during practice and just never coming back.

You shared valuable inside information, BMF. No reason to run from it.

Wasn’t even at the game. The whole conversation took place waiting for the pay-phone at Applebee’s.

I sat next to a players mom last night during the game (he's a former 5-star LB who only plays STs right now). She had A LOT of damning things to say about the team and coaches. She said: there's a problem in the locker room (team is divided, no camaraderie), there is definitely a 'seniority' issue w/ who plays, that there is no punishment/accountability for penalties and poor performance (no risk of being benched), that players miss meetings, are late to meetings, miss workouts, etc and there is no punishment for it. She said she expects several younger players to transfer out w/ the new transfer rule. It was very eye opening.
To cover my bases, I'll quote this before he edits it.

Yeah, in fact she wasn't even REALLY the mother of a player, just the friend of the mother of one of the players neighbors.

I think this is a good time to remind our posters of #12 of the Terms of Service:

In layman’s terms:

Dredging up previous posts or predictions and using them to mock and insult fellow posters is what this board is all about. Always has been.

That, and our section 8 facilities. If you’re Johnny 5 Star, you’ve got one shot to make it to the league, you have to choose your school wisely.

Good facilities show a commitment to winning, bad facilities show the opposite. if the facilities are lacking, where else are they cheap/failing.

If this is your one and only shot to make millions, who do you go with: the school with drop down ceiling tiles or the one with jet pack equipped laser sharks?
And they don't see that the facilities are coming, I believe sometime in 2022? Or was all that construction I walked by on Stadium Road on Tennessee day some kind of mirage?

So the young'uns have no patience?

That construction has been there for about a decade and won't be finished until these kids now have long white beards with two or three marbles rolling around upstairs.

A kid has four years, at most, to be at a program. You think showing him construction is going to get him excited? The facilities are going to be "coming" for MANY more years to come. It's absolutely outrageous and ridiculous how slow UF builds crap. When other schools want to actually improve their facilities, they DO IT, not pay union fatass construction crews to sit around and drag things out.

Stricklin just sits back and smiles without a care in the world. He should be down there kicking ass.

I wasn't necessarily wanting this to become it's own thread, just mentioned it in Truth's thread.

She did have some positive things to say. She said his recruitment went very well and UF did a good job (which is why he flipped to us). She was positive on the young players, said her son and AR are very good friends. She said he's almost 240lbs (which is probably why Fat Todd won't play him), good job w/ S&C. She agreed Fat Todd needs to go, along w/ some of the other assistants. She likes Robinson though. When we were down, she said, "Even if we win, Dan needs to make a lot of changes....". None of her comments were 'sour grapes' either, she agrees her son will be in the rotation after this season (when the seniors move on) and wasn't necessarily too upset he wasn't playing. One big gripe that I forgot to mention - about the rotation, was why they didn't allow the young guys to get in the games late? (meaning, why are starters playing the last series or two or three when we're up big?). She said that is a big reason why we may see younger guys transfer out (lack of playing time in blowouts) - it's a big deal for them because they work so hard and don't even get in late.
The problem is too few of our games are blow-outs. The hallmark of the Mullen era (for the most part) seems to be close wins and close losses; no matter who we play. This weekend against Vandy should be a great opportunity to get the young guys a bunch of reps. Will it be? We'll see.
If this young man is the person we all seem to suspect it to be, I am not surprised he is up to 240 lbs. I sat in the south endzone/gator side for the Tinerc game and when the Gators came out for the 2nd half, noticed how much bigger he looked than he did last year; dare I say it, he looked like an SEC linebacker.

The report from BMF is pretty much what we would expect after a loss to a Mark Stoops coached slightly better than average UK team.
It was embarrassing on many levels.
If anything it was kind of surprising to hear that the locker room issues were there before the UK game.
Sounds like locker room leaders are scarce and the loss of Miller made it worse. Maybe that it why they brought him to Lexington .
It may be time for a players only meeting where the "airing of grievances" can take place. Also if the stories about the current number of banged up players are true Vandy comes at a perfect time for the younger guys.
But this preferential treatment and playing time BS sounds just like last year where guys weren't performing, but had no fear of losing their job. See Marco Wilson 2020, TG and his crew seem to be again at the core of the problems, and if so he has to go. But we know that isn't happening.

Zero chance he gets fired. Its the barometer for the heat his seat is getting.

Let’s face it - if not for the phantom death threats and self-immolation, we’d still be sitting here bytching about why nobody will fire the shark-fuchser after a 6th 4+ loss season.
