Anyone who thinks that UF Brass will give Dopey Dan his walking papers after the Samford debacle is dreaming.
They view it as a great accomplishment. They point to:
1: Overcoming a first half melt down.
2: Basically holding the opposition in check for the second half;
3: Beating the opponent by 18 points.

It's going to take more than not covering a spread or a lackluster defensive
showing against 2ed rate opponent to convince those guys to pony up $12 million
to a guy who won't even be in town.

I believe whether or not CDM is here next year is totally dependent on two things. 1. He has to beat Mizzou and the semis and win whatever non-New Year bowl we wind up in. 2. He has to want to come back. I don't think our current administration will drop a hammer until the end of the season and perhaps not until early signing day is done. If he wins out and decides he wants to be HBC at Florida, he has to show it by massive changes and a huge increase in attention to recruiting.

There’s absolutely no way they’d wait till after the bowl game to fire him, with early signing period you have to try and have a coach hired by the end of November.

After Spurdog "Golden Boy"
It was all Zook's fault
*Then Meyer "Slightly tarnished Golden Boy" righted the ship, temporarily
Then it was all Champs fault
Then it was all Mac's fault
Now it's all Uncle Eddie's fault

We have a real track record of hiring faulty coaches.

The real party at fault is the Administration that continues hiring these chumps!

*Lucky we had Meyer in there for a few years even though his exit was less than ideal.
I would take Meyer back in a skinny minute but I think he's done with college coaching.

Great to be rid of Dan, but a bad year to shop. Last go round, we got to eat after ucla and nebraska. This year lsu and usc will eat first. Maybe we get leftovers.

Does this qualify of continuing our streak of finishing second on what we want?

Is baseball season over already? The only person who's opinion about Gator football I value less than yours is Strcklin's.

It is not my opinion, it is what they said. Your low regard for me notwithstanding, provided your opinion was of any consequence one way or the other.

Whether they keep him or not they should be gauging interest from other coaches through back channels so they can move quickly if needed

C'mon man... this isn't a five year old, or a fresh out of college employee, or a 2LT in the military, it's a grown ass man who has been in college coaching his entire adult life, the last 12 (or whatever) years in his current role in the SEC. If he's not doing those things NOW, on his OWN, I'm not interested in a guy who starts doing it because he was forced to. But I agree, he might keep his job if he does those things... personally, I wouldn't keep him on as a manager in my organization. Fast moving, high performing organizations don't have time to for this, I guess maybe we do.
