My 2 cents:

More than likely, Napier won’t succeed. In my lifetime (50+ years), we’ve had a relatively good coach (Graves), 2 great coaches (Spurrier and Meyer), and a bunch of average to bad coaches. Pell is questionable- he got us in trouble, but he did lay the foundation for the run the Gators started in the 80’s.

We Gator fans *****ed about Zook when he was Spurrier’s DC (we chanted “give Zook the hook”). We hated Mullen and Adazio when Meyer was there.

We Gator fans are always mostly negative. We have a few pumpers to try to look on the bright side (obviously, that’s how Mr 2 Bits came about - he wasn’t even originally a Gator, he just wanted to get the fans to stop booing).

Worst case scenario with Napier is he doesn’t work out and we move on to the next one. At least we won’t be tied down to a 10 year contract. I think he will at least build up the infrastructure, and he has the UAA opening up the checkbook for what is needed.

Whatever he does, I’ll be there cheering and potentially booing him every step of the way.
