What is the consensus on Leonard? Good, poor, meh? I'm feeling underwhelmed to be honest - just how many short assed OLs do we really need?
I like him. If Hevesy likes him, that is all that matters. He isn't a great recruiter but he is good at finding people who fit and developing them. He is really the only established three star whisperer on this staff.

Something else about Richie Leonard, he plays DT as well. If an emergency comes up and we need big butts, he can change sides.

I saw where the scouting report said he gets high in his stance. Hevesy says their technique isn’t important because he almost always changes it. Plus, it is high school. A lot of linemen do that because they so outmatch their opponent. I’ve seen a few plays where, like Jawaan Taylor, Leonard stood straight up out of his stance and just pushed the defender to the ground. He saw no need to actually stay in his stance against a guy like that. It is normal.

Sounds like a very positive scouting report. Why is he a 3 star? Because he isn’t projected as a OT in CFB?
There’s a million offensive lineman in the country. His ranking doesn’t necessarily mean much of anything. Could very well just be because of height and nothing really else. He and Mincey heavily out perform their rankings.

Leonard fits Hev's OL mold. Large, aggressive road graders that can pull. It does not hurt that he is a charismatic leader who's very good friends with Dumervil and I think Walker. I would be ecstatic if we can close our OL class with Dumervil & Walker!

BTW, the staff still likes Morven Joseph and will continue to recruit him. Just like they will continue to go after Bowman.
Morven looked at our depth chart at WDE and realized that he could find earlier playing time elsewhere. I am not sure that Chantz is a take for us. He reportedly is not a take by any of his top 3 choices and Miami might be his best choice. He did not exactly light it up at the Opening against admittedly some of the best OL nationally.
Both Jaheim Bell and Morven Joseph want to play the recruiting game. We will continue recruiting them both.

Hopefully they can flip Bowman. I dont like Joseph as a prospect. To me, he is a career backup. Plus, we dont need to see more guys at that position. We will probably sign 2 in this class. Use Joseph's scholly on a DT, OL, or WR.

Anyone else think Hevesy might turn him into a Center? Typically height(shorter) isn't as much of an issue with that position where as T's need length and range...If he has a good head on his shoulder and is a leader that makes it even that much better.

Need OL that are going to make it into the class. If we close Walker and Dumerville this is a fantastic OL class.

Just imagine having FSUs OL

I like how the roster look on the interior for the near future, but our Gators have to get some tackles ASAP.

Id be happy to land neither.

Both are huge project needing to add sixty pounds and we have guys stacked up to play WDE already. (Currently Moon, Greenard, Chatfield, Lil Reese, Bogle, Summerall, Diabate). Id be more than happy to be "forced" to play only one blitzbacker specialist and put real DEs on the line.

The ship on Jospeh has sailed, it was a mutual separation. Bell has an odd infatuation with Chump and wants early playing time which is why he left....he is all USCe and we will not continue to pursue either

Yeah Johnson will decommit soon as well. Joseph spent all summer donning Lole and Dwag gear. Kid can ride the pine at a loser program.

Just like the last two years there’s a lot of names that’ll surprise all of us that we are in it for (Powell recently being one of them). I’m assuming they’re readjusting the board now that we have legit shots at guys
Pardon my obtuseness, but do I assume rightly that you are referring to T. Johnson as opposed to J. Johnson?

He better learn to punt.

Not sure what he thinks he's going to do in a chump offense. Block mostly.

Not that I care.
