In this system, what is the ideal size for a WDE?

If you look at Alabama's roster, they have several players listed at "LB" but are 6'4 250-ish (one is Jarez Parks, the famously blue-shirted 4-star, who is listed at 6'4 251). These guys are playing some OLB and WDE in their system. Is this what we're trying to get our "WDE" players to be?

I would say 240-250. SDE 265-280.

He was invited to the Under Armor "Bigs" competition, held this summer. He's definitely getting a bump to low 4-star, which should put him in the top 350. He's ranked 24th WDE, so that probably moves him up into the top 15 or so.

It's getting better but in the past there was a good ole boy network in recruiting services. Certain coaches could manipulate them to hide recruits or increase value on their commits to help attract more.

Would you agree it is a problem that shows up a lot in guys that tend to be able to beat their guys regularly with sheer quickness on their current level? I'm going out on a limb and guess the coaches at IMG are a little more on top of it than your average try-hard defensive line coach in high school. Hopefully it is something they are in his ear about and not just willing to coast on his "good enough for us" play. If he can put it together at this level before he gets on campus, so much more the better.

You're probably the best authority on the board when it comes what these guys can put on. You think he can get to SDE size and keep most of his quicks? That would be pretty fun to watch.

They deserve the same support from a UAA that should care about the team as much as they do.

Three man fronts generally have HEAVY ends, essentially a NT and two DTs.

Skinny ends are a hallmark of a 4 man front. Guys that are WDEs in a 4 man front are typically OLBs in 3-4.

I dont know anyone else playing this flyweight 3 man front.
