Great observations! The big hitters with few exceptions disappear under pressure by drubbing hits into the dirt or striking out if they don't pop out. The occasional HR with a guy on base is not a winning strategy but that is where we have been for over 10 years. They are all swinging like Jud Fabian which is a strategy based on luck and rainbows
It's sully ball, same as it's always been.

This is a really detailed look at where baseball hitting statistics have morphed over time. If you compare this to the current UF team we are trending lower than average for SO's, higher in batting average and runs scored. Only two regular starters are around the average for SO's (Riopelle and Evans). The majority of our core lineup is significantly lower and much higher in getting on base. As a team our BA is significantly higher as is our runs per nine innings. It will be interesting to see what occurs over the remainder of the season playing a steady diet of SEC top 25 teams.

Home Runs, Strikeouts and Low Averages Are Trending Throughout Baseball.

So far not playing well in any facet. Lot of pop ups on offense against a sinker ball pitcher. Nesbit departs just short of 4 innings. His ball just did not seem to have nearly the movement it has in his past starts. Defense is abysmal so far.

Got some breaks on a couple infield hits, but good at bats throughout the 8th to put up a 5 spot.

Gotta give credit to Abner for stopping any Nole momentum.

Always nice to beat the :nole:
:nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole::nole:. Even tho we stunk it up for 6 innings, Abner came in and steadied the pitching staff. Knowing Sully, Abner has replaced Fisher after tonight as the main lefty out of the pen, at least the next game a lefty is needed, LOL. As @Bullag8r noted, the hitters began putting the ball on the ground and although not a lot of smashes, those balls found some openings and the gates were open. Very good comeback when not playing your best. Good to see Cags get 4 hits after an 0fer against Bama. Gotta play better this weekend at Ole Piss, especially defensively.

Great game tonight, was on the west side and there was quite a gator presence. That 5 inning explosion had a lot of loud cheering from around the park while watching a lot of noles sit in silence. My son also got to talk with sproat for a few minutes. He was super cool and it made my son's day. Sproats his favorite player.

It pains me that Sully doesn’t seem to think it is necessary to use a quality, experienced player at first base. Too many errors every damn year.

Need to crop the other kid out of the photo. From the look on his face it’s almost as if he knew a beat down was coming.
