Yet only 36 players healthy/good enough to play in the SEC Championship. Here's who available Saturday:
Appleby
Brantley
Bryan
Buchanan (never plays)
Callaway
Clark
Cleveland
Cronkrite
K. Davis
Desir-Jones (never plays)
Gardner
Goolsby
Hammond
Harkless
Harris
Ivie
K. Jackson (never plays)
R. Jackson (never plays)
Jefferson
F. Johnson
K. Johnson
Jordan
Joseph
Knight (never plays)
Lewis
McCoy
Perine
Pineiro
Polite
Powell
Putu (never plays)
Reese
Sandifer (never plays)
Scarlett
Sharpe
Stevens (never plays)
Swain
Tabor
Taylor
C. Thompson
M. Thompson
Townsend
Williamson (never plays)
Wilson
Zuniga

Of the 36 players...

FOUR are running backs and THREE are special teams only (kicker, punter, gunner Thompson).

So clearly the only position where we have ANY depth is at RB.

Outside of that... we have 29 guys trying to cover 21 positions.

I wonder how the pumpers will spin this one.

You blaming the injuries on coaching?
I'm blaming the injuries on lack of an offense leaving the defense to play tired and worn out over and over again. Lack of an offense due to piss poor coaching. And I'm blaming the coaches for the depth problems we have. It's inexcusable.

We can only take 25 per year. We lose players every year to attrition. Grads, early NFL draft, dumb NFL flunkies, transfers, career ending injuries, whatever, you know what I'm saying. It's impossible to fill all the damn depth when you're still trying to fill a starting freaking line up for crying out loud...Some of you are placing entirely too much blame on Mac's shoulders. He deserves some of the blame, but depth is definitely NOT one of the things he deserves the blame for. Well, ok, depth on the Dline and LB is his fault pretty much. So there is that I guess.

We've seen this problem basically every season by the end of the year sans 2012 since Meyer left. Why is it that no one ever considers the possibility that yes, in fact these issues are in part because of coaching?

Absolutely. It's on the coaches for failing to recruit and develop depth also. Remember when CUM had six "starters" on DL (and 2 others that were situational) and 4 "starters" at LB? Guess what, people got dinged up a bit, but if they aren't playing hurt and tired, they are less likely to get badly injured.

OL Martez Ivey (leg) - Probable

TE C'yontai Lewis (ankle) - Questionable

OL Fred Johnson (scooter accident) - Questionable

LB Daniel McMillian (shoulder) - Questionable

DB Nick Washington (ankle) - Doubtful

DE Bryan Cox Jr. (leg) - Doubtful

DB Duke Dawson (ankle) - Doubtful

DE Jordan Sherit (knee) - Out

C Cameron Dillard (knee) - Out

DB Jeawon Taylor (shoulder) - Out

RB Mark Herndon (hamstring) - Out

WR C.J. Worton (ankle) - Out

DE Justus Reed (undisclosed) - Out

So these 22 were not on the first list...add these to the 36 above and we have 58 players who can/or may contribute in the future. In other words we're basically on self-imposed probation.

You can sign more than 25 a year bro. And yeah, as you admitted, depth is very much his fault at this point.

Youre wrong. Do we have to do this again? Are you going to Crete Redshirt on us and keep saying it no matter how many times we correct it?

Both years he has been here, Mac has been able to take 32 or 33 players, with countbacks and early enrollees. He even SAID the goal was 32 last year, but failed miserably. (I applauded his first year effort as acceptable given the pile of crap that Dawgshyt left.)

Depth is absolutely his fault, and frankly you have to weed through a lot of bad players when all you sign is 3 stars. It comes with the territory because 80% will never be anything but backup quality players.

Early Enrollees count against the previous year. It still comes out to an average of 25 per year. You can't overcome that number no matter how fancy you try to get. He's missed some really desperate needs, no doubt. But he was handed a horribly undermanned roster. He hasn't managed his numbers well, but he also can't perform miracles.

You know darn well it still averages out to 25 per year. You have to pay the piper somewhere.

We've paid the mother effin piper over and over since 2009. We haven't signed a full class plus our countbacks. We've never been within 10 players of 85, and that's not counting all the Kalif Jacksons and Andrew Mikes that burn schollies but should have been Sabaned after their second year when it was obvious they aren't Div1 players.

The simple fact is we should have signed 57-60 players the last two years and we haven't. So the roster numbers absolutely is his responsibility. He signed 21 in 2015 and 26 in 2016. Thirteen players short is all on Mac & Company.

Every other coach on the planet plays by the same rules and we are the only damn team on self-imposed probation.

Nav, yes it averages out but that doesn't change the fact that he COULD have signed over 30 both years bc of the massive amount of holes that were left on the roster. He didn't. It doesn't matter if things average to 25. We aren't talking averages we are talking the 2 years he's been here where he signed way fewer than he could have.
