Coaches getting axed begins

I don't think that is a bad hire for UNC. It reminds me of when what's his name went back to KState. It is a short term fix.

Brown is 67, so how many more years does Mullen have ? :D

Paired with a good young OC that could work, but it does seem like UNC giving up, you know Roy is happy no money will be going to the football team anymore.

On one hand, this appears to be comedic gold. On the other hand, he DID beat us in 2009. As long as ut doesn’t recruit anywhere close to bamuh level, we should be just fine, right?

They won't recruit with Mac on staff.

I'm assuming they are hoping Mac Brown can just stabilize their program and then they can "hire" an up and comer in about 5 years when they have to force Brown out. They aren't going to do anything special with him.

Round it goes..

@AlexDaGator, you've got me all nostalgic now about the Ford Rouge Plant, Zug Island, and now what was Great Lakes Steel, then Nippon Steel, now US Steel just down the river from Zug Island. We would drive down to the park on the river at the end of Southfield Road at night and watch the sky light up when they would pour the slag off from the molten steel... was pretty incredible.

I'm just surprised Zug Island didn't make it into the Kokomo song.

How Zug Island and Fordson Island further up the Rouge were formed is an interesting thing. Henry cut two straight channels so that his iron ore freighters could go up and down the river to the Rouge Plant. The only way to access Fordson Island (which is technically Dearborn) was a bridge on the Detroit side of the original river. During prohibition, it was a lawless place of debauchery

Zug Island was a place that at night with the flames, looked like actual Hell

I hear Zug Island is beautiful this time of year.
there is a beauty to Zug Island... my Dad worked many a times on Zug Island. It's also where the Edmund Fitzgerald was actually headed, then on to Cleveland. There was an AWESOME dive bar right off of Zug Island called the Delray Cafe that we would go to when I would go home to Detroit. Zug Island is in the Delray section of Southwest Detroit... it was originally full a big Hungarian neighborhood with tons of great food places when I was young.

so i choose to believe that's what Steve and the boys were singing about

Let's re-write the lyrics. Born and raised in...Cleveland? St. Louis? Chicago? Philadelphia? Newark? Indianapolis? Gary? Pittsburgh? Actually, musically speaking, Louisville or Jacksonville would fit the song but lack the cache of South Detroit. Nah. I got nuthin'.
