Recruiting ESD December 2024 until NSD: Top 100 DB J’Vari Flowers commits as late addition

We havent landed him yet. I dont want him to change his mind!
Oh please. The giddy posts you would make if that happened say otherwise. You'd be happier than a pig in sh!t. Don't insult us by denying it.

Good point

Yes, but will 2 years in JUCO count toward draft eligibility. It certainly wouldn't be fair if a player transferring after 2 years of JUCO to have both 4 years of eligibility plus the ability to enter the draft after 1 more year. And it wouldn't be fair if a player transferring after 2 years of JUCO to be ineligible to enter the draft for 3 more years. Do the bozos who make these rules actually consider the ramifications?

None of this has anything to do with "fair".
Right now, It's completely one sided. Players can basically play wherever they please, do whatever the hell they want and then move around in some twisted free agency, like mercenaries.

We the fans, have lost team identity. Yeah, the helmet still says "Gators" , but #22 is a different player every year.
Hard to get excited about some true freshman that shines like a diamond, then hoping like hell he doesn't transfer next year or the year after.

This whole system is awful.

It was severely flawed for decades in favor of the schools. The NCAA kept kicking the can down the road until they got sued and now it’s all about the players. Went from one ditch to the other.

No, for 100 years the NCAA and schools held all the power and made all the rules. Schools could cut kids indiscriminately but the kids couldn't leave without penalty (one year in NCAA prison). The coaches could leave but the kids got penalized. They couldn't get a brownie or cream cheese on their bagels because some fuchsing douchebag at Hofstra or Loyola said so.

Screw the NCAA.

We could argue about this all day. I agree, the NCAA dropped the ball a long damn time ago, and could have easily nipped this in the bud.

But, Given the fact that only about 1% of these kids ever get to the NFL, an education should be the top priority here.
I think it's going to get very interesting in a couple years when, some 28 year old dude goes back to school and decides he wants to play CFB.
What we have now, is a career, in college football.

Kids are trying to make a couple million bucks, while getting that free education, free room and board, free training and free TV exposure every single Saturday in the fall.

99% Of these new millionaires, will never see another playing day in their lives.

I have no idea where this can of worms is headed.
I do know, it's already past the point of absurdity. At the same time, the "absurdity" is only beginning.

'We the fans' means nothing because you probably don't contribute anything other than buying gear with the logo on it, or buy tickets to go see a game, hotels to stay at while at the game, food at restaraunts while in town for the game, concessions while at the game...and so on. Guess who doesn't ever see a dime of that money even though that is truly what you are spending that money to see? The university makes a killing from SEC contracts, TV contracts, all that gear your buying...and so on. The player gets nothing.

So maybe think a little bit about 'We the fans' bullchit because in reality, you, nor all of us, have never been a fan of the player, you've been a fan of the University. So dont act like the players owe you a thing because of 'fair'. It hasn't been fair for a century and now that you are getting a taste of the unfairness while the players are starting to get a taste of the fair, maybe you can get a little bit more perspective about real fairness.

Maybe I missed it, but what if the fans want a player that the coach doesn’t or maybe is thinking of as a plan B or C?

Sounds like you get to do what you want with your money.

If you want to leave all that to the program, give to Florida Victorious or the UAA.

Hell, This could also apply to Pee Wee ball. Do 8 year olds need a stipend?
It's only "fair"...right.
GTFO with this BS.

Maybe think a little about what these kids were getting before NIL.

The players don't owe me jack **** and, I don't owe them jack **** either.
Guess what happens when "we the fans" stop watching, stop going to games, stop spending money on hotel rooms and game food and buying gear?

Who the **** do you think is funding all this shiit?
WE THE FANS.

TV money dries the **** up when "we the fans" stop watching the games on TV.
Are you that fn stupid?

I already agreed the NCAA dropped the ball on this years ago. They should have done something more.
But, I also maintain an education at a prestigious University should count for "something".

It's skewed too far in the other direction and will eventually find some sort of sanity. If not, It will dry up and die.

We are now in the odd position where the NCAA desperately needs a strong national players' union so that they can negotiate/establish rules without violating anti-trust.

"We the fans" are too stupid/fickle/addicted to do any of that. See how the NFL and Bud Light boycotts have gone tits up.

1. Why should they care if they play NFL ball or not if they’re able to land a couple of million and set themselves up in life? Why is the NFL the one and only goal? And why do people have the audacity to tell somebody else what their goals should be in life? Being a pro athlete can be lucrative, but being a good D1 football player can be as well. It’s not NFL or bust. As long a people like us are buying tickets, hats, shirts and going to games, college football will be lucrative. The athletes are simply cashing in.

2. Why are people hung up on who might, in the future, be playing college football? Again, why does it matter? Why are people so butt hurt on players making damn good money playing a sport that literally generates billions and billions of dollars?

3. The NCAA had the power for decades and decades to make changes that would have prevented this **** show, but they wanted the money and so did nothing. Hoped for the best. Now the courts have sided with the athletes, and they’re not likely to give a **** about the profitability of, chaos to, or difficulties in college sports. It’s about the individual and not the institutions.

There is no easy answer that’s gonna solve the transfer portal nuttiness. Preventing large numbers of students the right to transfer because 12 teams are in a playoff doesn’t make sense. The NCAA can’t implement a change in that as the courts have spoken and will immediately step in if they try something in the future.

Unless…. the athletes become employees and create a union. Then rules can be collectively bargained. Not sure why they would agree to doing that, but it’s at least an option.

Speaking of Bacon. There's a dog snack called Begging Bacon. I just saw a commercial for it ... basically the same as when it first came out in 1988. My little sister always cracked up when she saw it because she thought of me (Dad and I were in our 'rind on dry smoked (cherry) bacon' phase).

Dinner: Made some sous vide chicken breast, pulled it, added mayo, diced celery and onions, a little ground cumin, and put it on fresh sourdough bread with a slice of American cheese. Also had about 1/4 of the Halloween candy for dessert (s).
