Yeah, and while we're at it, you always like to say "as a side" when you add another thought to some of your posts. The correct phrase is "as an aside". You've said it like 4 or 5 times now so I know it's not a typo. I didn't mention it before but since you're such a dick and I'm such a nice guy I think I'll bring it to your attention now. We wouldn't want the badass lawyer to look like a tool when writing his briefs, now would we?

As a side is short for "as a side note." A side note is literally a notation made in the margins or sides of a page. When you are adding a bit of additional detail, you can preface it with "as a side note to this information ..."

"As an aside" is used when a private thought wants to be conveyed. Since I'm displaying my thoughts for everyone to see, it wouldn't equate to a private conveyance of a thought.

I can't decide my favorite. '05 was pretty special. '99 was amazing though. T-Martin's helmet rolled right near my seats. James Bates introduced the world to "I'm never gonna laugh again." And I'll never forget Big Money in the post game conference. "Where's Tttt-Mahtin? I he still laughing'.?"

"As a side" is most definitely not used by anyone except you as meaning "as a side note". When people want to say "as a side note" they actually say "as a side note". When saying "as a side" are you talking about a side of beef or maybe onion rings?

And again, you are completely wrong about the usage of "as an aside".

"You say "as an aside" when you are talking about one thing and you want to talk about something else then come back to the first thing."
Example: "As an aside: Is anyone hungry?"
You want to keep talking about the first thing after you say something else briefly, when you say "as an aside".
Example: "As an aside, do you come to this place often?"
Saying as an aside is sometimes used as a polite way to change the topic and talk about something else.
Example: "Then he says to me, as an aside, let's get out of this place."

So again, let's review. You use an improper phrase in which you no doubt mixed two separate yet similar phrases and came out with one improper one. Whereas the use of "as an aside" is shown to be both proper and correct.

But here's the proof. I dare you to use "as a side" in any of your professional correspondence. In fact, I'm begging you.
