mario cristobal 1, kiffin (god i cant believe im to this point) 2.

1 year playcalling by someone who only called some plays and had heisman talent at the qb and receiver positions doesnt do much for me.
Here's my issue with Cristobal. He's got a losing record. And he's never been a coordinator. Was barely. 500 last year with the best roster in his conference.

I wouldn’t be in Board with any coach without head ball coach experience.
We are too big to allow learning on the job.

I respect what he did at LSU. That’s a hell of a leap from “passing game coordinator “ to head ball coach.

Hell, If I wanted to poach the NFL I would break the bank for Dan Quinn.
We bigger than Clemson Ohio state and Oklahoma?

Let's make a list . Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson and Ohio state all hired coaches without previous head coach experience. I think we can crush this theory that a barely or sub .500 coach is gonna come here and be something more

I’ll give you Georgia

Dabo spent years with Clemson before getting the HC gig.
That’s more if a promotion from within.
Also, let’s not kid ourselves here. Clemson struggled, in the ACC , until Dabo found Brent Venables.

Please, Day and Riley INHERITED a FN Lamborghini.

Both have been extremely lucky with transfer QB’s and Both play in a conference, where the schedule permits only 1 or 2, potential losses per year, as long as you recruit.

Both only had to hold the line and recruit…NOT COACH, to maintain a program,
I don’t think either one could go to a power five school with a losing record and turn it around.

Day had his ass handed to him by a superior coach yesterday.

Both of them are Overrated as coaches.

Is Cristobal a terrible coach? Is he as bad as Zook, Chump or Mac?
Recruiting is 80% of the pie. If he can deliver top 3 classes then he only needs to be better than the three stooges.

I'm a moron no doubt but I'm a GATOR and a dang good father/husband FIRST. Mullen has to go no doubt. Idk how we as fans can get it done, maybe you would know how. I see other morons are coming up with other coaches they would like in the thread. I see Cristobal's name coming up by a few morons so I guess we will see.

All that matters is how a coach does against teams with more or less talent.
First let's look at how Cristobol has recruited at Oregon.
2017 Taggerts last year their team talent composite was 717.
2018 Cristobol's transition class came in about the same 716 good enough for 25th
2019 817 points (17th)
2020 855 points (12th)
2021 885 points (9th)
So the guy can recruit. It's rare to see so much of an increase in team talent.

But what was his record against the talent? Remember 80% is the benchmark.
2018 was his first year and coaches usually do worst in their first year.
He was 7/10 70% against teams he should beat. About right for first year.
and 2/3 when he should lose which is really really good.

2019 11/12 92% in games he should win. That's good
1/2 games he should lose. Not bad either.

2020 was a cluster fuch
3/6 50% in games he should win
1/1 100% in games he should lose.

Kinda wonky results but 2021 should tell us everything we need to know and assuming he performs like 2019 we should back up the Brink's truck.

I'll give him some leeway for following Willie and being forced to clean up that mess. But he's certainly doing it.

Luke Fickle is garbage. He is just stuck with the ugly girl that no one wanted to take to the prom in a little league conference.

Like Urban Meyer with Utah in the Mountain West?:dunno:

I'd take Fickell over Campbell easily. Heck, after last night, I'd look at John Grass.
