Did you watch the LSU and UGA games? Outcoached in both by two guys with a combined IQ of around 80.

Out-coached? We have won 9 games without an OL. Mullen has completely adapted to the players we have. Our D is 13th in the nation. We are not being out-coached.

We lost to LSU and UGA because 1. Their OLs are great. 2. We cannot run the ball on ANYONE 3. Against LSU both of our elite DEs went down on the first play. 4. Burrow and Fromm were this able to pick apart our secondary.

I swear some of you people don't watch the games. The coaching was PISS-POOR in both of the losses this year, and it has nothing to do with the talent advantage of the opponent. Mullen deserves criticism for both of those games.

Sooo it had nothing to do with both teams having better offensive and defensive lines, LBer's, DB's and twice the overall talent......Ok......no Mullen apologist here but for the love of God man....

The UGA game was about 60/40 being overmatched verses outcoached and LSU was about 80/20...…….You can only coach around so many open holes before the ship sinks.

No you clown. I'm talking about COACHING. Play calling, substitutions, etc, that kind of thing.

.
Same OL that looks fine when EJ is in ,right?

How do you explain that? This is probably the dumbest take Ive ever heard ESPECIALLY since weve already seen him hamhandedly try to run the option w Chris Leak for 1.5 years and actually saw him finally adapt w FB and a conventional run game (and no doubt at Meyer's insistence).

They also happen to be the two teams we played with superior talent. The one team with equal talent (Auburn) went home with a big fat “L”. Seems like your making his point. Players. We ALL know Mullen needs to recruit better. If he gets that fixed, we’ll be elite again.

What I'm telling is that even if we had equal talent we would have lost both games. Hell, the players didn't even look like they wanted to be there against UGA.

So you are saying players matter more than scheme? I have been told repeatedly on this thread that scheme is all you need!!!

Cleary you are trolling here.

You honestly believe talent advantage has nothing to do with the two teams we lost to... Despite everyone insisting we'll never beat elite teams until we close the talent gap. I've read that 10,000 times here. You can't have it both ways. Of course, their far superior talent factored in on those looses. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

What was that stat? 82.6% of the time, the teams with superior talent wins... Measuring by that, Mullen and company had a 17.4% chance of winning. And you're declaring it was all coaching. Besides being an avid fan, exactly what is your football knowledge? It seems to me that given that stat, coaching was the only thing that kept us in the game.

Of course he earned criticism in both losses. Mullen is the first to criticize himself after a loss, or a win, or a poorly executed play. The offense played very well against a tough LSU defense. They might have done a bit more/better vs. UGA if we had stopped them on 3rd down at all.

We couldn’t get to the QB in either of those games. Zero sacks. Against LSU we might have with Zuniga &/or Greenard, but we had neither. That’s why we lost both.

Also, UGA and LSU each only had to punt twice.

Ok dumbswampASS, you have graciously out-dumbed me and everyone else.

1. Billy Latsko came on in 2005, not 2006. So it took 7 games, but really 2 losses, for Meyer & Mullen to revamp the offense.

2. You drink too much during the games if you think the running game “looks fine when EJ is in there.”

It looks better when EJ is in there against Towson, UT Martin and Vandy. It looks even better on the 2-3 plays where Pierce, Perine or Hammond busted a big play. Those 3 plays out-gained EJ’s season to date. The OL is better today than in August but it’s still limited.

Your contention that Mullen can only win if his QB is a runner and his WRs do nothing but block downfield is colliding with your contention that he’s keeping his “just fine” running game QB on the bench - in favor of a pocket passer who is distributing the ball all over the field to a dozen targets.
