I think Toronto winning the title was good for the sport, but does anyone doubt that a completely healthy Warriors team beats them easily?
My thoughts as well. To me, the one thing I didn't want to happen is what ended up happening. When Thompson went down, I really wanted to see the Warriors pull it out and force a game 7--in part to extend the season and in part because it would be a terrific story that would truly cement GS's legacy if they could pull off a title without arguably their two best players. The other option I would've been totally fine with was Toronto pulling away after Klay went down and winning by 10-15. Injuries are part of things, and the game was close at the time, so there'd be no way to argue that Toronto wasn't going to win regardless, and the Thompson injury just made the path much easier.
But as it was, late in the 4th, GS is up, and of course, had a chance to win it with :09 left, because of sloppy play by the Raptors when they had the chance to put it away. Imo, that almost kills any argument that they could've beaten them, even with only one of the injuries, much less a healthy squad.
Good for Toronto, and you take a title any way you can. But they're a really solid group of players that are easy to pull for, and it would've been much better to see them win it without all of the legitimate questioning of whether they could've with any other scenario.
