This was a good win and pretty much what I expected from the second half. Tre Mann just continues to get better and better, and with KJ out, Mann is clearly our best player and probably gone at the end of the year unfortunately. I'm happy to see Payne taking on a bigger role on offense and we are seeing some potential with his added athleticism with this team that is still finding it's identity after having to be completely reworked with the loss of KJ. Castleton played well (again) today and is really a throwback kind of player, back to the basket traditional center. Mann and Appleby proving to be a really good guard combo and Locke doing what he does best today. Osifo with some good minutes off the bench and he has earned the right for some more playing time going forward.
Overall you have to be impressed with the last couple games that put us tied for second in the win column in league play, at least until LSU plays later. One thing I wonder about is how we will integrate Scottie into the lineup when he finally comes back. As I recall he was getting heavy minutes, like 30 when not in foul trouble but I'm not sure we want to mess with the chemistry we seem to be finding. I'm sure he will still be a major part of the rotation but hopefully he will be okay with some reduction in minutes for the betterment of the team.
