Seriously, who gets Covid 3 times?
Dr. Rendi Murphree says that in Alabama it's happening to more people than you think.
Some unvaccinated Alabamians contracting COVID-19 two or three times
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — New cases of COVID-19 are popping up across Alabama, and doctors say they are treating patients who are dealing with it for a second and third time.
Dr. Rendi Murphree with the Mobile County Health Department said more people than you think are contracting COVID-19 repeatedly in Alabama.
"For every one breakthrough case you hear about in Alabama, we hear about four to five reinfections. And that's just going to continue to happen until people get vaccinated," Murphree said.
She said so far, there are at least 4,000 to 5,000 reinfected cases in the state.
Many times, those reinfected have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic the second or third time around.
“So, you got two-thirds of the people who are out there with COVID that are not symptomatic. And if they don't go home, they don't even realize that they are infecting other people," Dr. Murphree said.
She said people who go unvaccinated after catching COVID-19 are more at risk of catching it again. The reasons are the length of natural immunity from the infection is believed to only last a short time, and different variants circulating increase the risk.
"There’s just not complete data on, you know, how long immunity lasts, how strongly the immunity protects," Murphree said.
Let's be honest. "There's not just complete date on, you know," anything to do with this whole nonsense. I am over it. Wake me up when I die of covid. Until then I don't give a Fuchs.
Sorry, was that off topic? Don't give a Fuchs about that either.
If we somehow beat Alabama then
maybe I'll start giving a Fuchs about some sh*t.
