It seems like Mullen gets tensed up and conservative in this game for some reason. The last two years he’s played not to lose instead of playing to win. Maybe some of that has to do with playing from behind both times, maybe some of it has to do with knowing we just didn’t/don’t have the horses to compete with them if all other things are equal. I truly believe he’s a better coach than Bangz, but Bangz is a better recruiter by far, and seems to be willing to make changes to his staff if needed. Mullen so far hasn’t shown a willingness to do that.
This Saturday is an absolute must win for him, surely he understands that. We already have one loss on the season, and so do they. The difference is that they’re unlikely to be in any jeopardy of losing another one beyond our game, and truthfully, we shouldn’t be either. This game is for a shot at Atlanta, and both sides know it.
