All I know is, if we can make it through this game without running the ball on 2nd & 10 after an incomplete pass, running a sweep/stretch play to the short side of the field, or having two receivers run right next to each other in the route tree, we may be on the right track.
Stretch plays to the short side of the field were the absolute worst... especially because the defense (and fans and God and creation) had that stupid play so thoroughly scouted that its success rate had to be less than 5%.

They will never expect it, bc it is so stupid.

Just like the play action on 3rd and long or the draw on 2nd and long....EVERY DAMN SERIES.

I am expecting a lot of run first but a 55%-45% Run:Pass.

I do expect a few Deep Balls.

And a 45-10 score.

I’m not a fan of his offense, but at least we won’t see the following:

1) multiple delay of game penalties b/c Butters McNussButt was a disorganized hot mess.

2) multiple offsides/false starts b/c Ol’ hee-haw and gang didn’t know how to instill discipline.

3) a team of soft wankers courtesy of Tannenbaum’s S&C program.

4) Poor game management: decline penalty for 3&7 instead of accepting 2&20, not using time outs in last seconds of half/game, play action on 3&20....

5) the two defenses Randy Shannon knew how to call.

6) the 4 offensive plays Butters McNussButt knee.

7) Noooooooooooorrrrrrrdddddddd!!!!!!

Good stuff, especially 3,4 & 5.

I'll probably need to actually see a 3rd and long not be a short-of-the-sticks pass to Powell, in order to believe it. But assuming that happens, I'll be excited.

  1. Much better specialty teams play, where the return team actually puts the offense into some field position, maybe even takes one to the house
  2. An offensive line that knows who to block and has some idea what's going on.
  3. A quarterback that looks at least a little better than most of expect, if for no other reason than he's had some coaching in the Spring and Fall.
  4. Score prediction 44-7, with 24 points coming in the first half.

Take a good look at that picture and see if you can pick out the guy who metaphorically represents Swamp Donkey among all those happy Gator fans.

Hint: He's got a blue water polo hat on.

Less than 150 yards allowed
At least one turnover forced
More sacks than points allowed

North of 500 yards offense (probably most unlikely)
No fumbles
100% redzone TD conversion (probably 2nd most unlikely)
Minimum 45 points

Expectations are nothing but a setup for disappointment, as in:

My wife expected to marry a tall, rich dude
Kathy Griffin expected to have a relevant voice in politics
and
I expected Trask to start. Then I expected Toney to take it to the end zone twice. Then I expected Franks to run for 93 yards and two scores. Then I expected Franks to throw the ball out of bounds rather than leisurely walk out of bounds with the ball for a four yard loss.

Then I expected that my expectations would not be met. Nailed it!
