Not the best pic, but my 2015 F250. Because I’m a man. When it hit 100k miles a few months ago my mechanic deleted the DEF and retuned it to 525 hp. Added 5-7 mpg, so screw you greenpeace! This thing will either pull your house down or run a verified 150 mph. A34C306A-637A-41F3-864B-D9470D50042A.jpeg

Ok I have a 2005 E250 because I’m a handyman/painter with my own business...my toy (that my wife drives because we “share it”) is a 2006 5spd v6 mustang...of course I have 5 kids and we have a minivan a 2012 T&C...but with the house the kids and daycare we ain’t got much room for fancy new toys...then again I’m only 34...so we’ll get there...enjoyed seeing y’alls stuff

Amazing what power can be added to modern engines through tuning(recalibration) and a few minor bolt on's and you can get EVEN MORE efficiency. Even power adders like superchargers and turbos can do better mileagewise as long as you keep your foot out of it most of the time.

An engineer friend explained it to me as that a far can be tuned for max HP, max efficiency or least emissions (hot and lean) and a billion points in between. Generally the car comes from the factory tuned for least emissions. It's why even the smallest cars today have trouble getting the MPG of a 80s model Honda HF or a Geo Metro or similar cars often got 50mpg with a damn carburetor and non-computer controlled distributor. Emissions are lower though, if you are the sort that believes cow farts are going to destroy the world.

Yup... stripped of all emissions controls and tuned on a dyno, there are few cars out there (also stripped and tuned) that can beat a Ford F-250 (6.4 turbo diesel) in the 1/4 mile.

On another carburetor note, one of the advantages of going to HS directly across the street from all of Ford's engineering design and down the street from their Dyno Lab (which always had THREE mint Pantera's parked there), was a "special" scrap dumpster that we discovered... that often contained test carburetors. A few MIGHT have been borrowed by unnamed teenagers for additional "testing." Good times... a time when even teenagers could fart around with an engine... could never do either now.

You found an automotive engineer with common sense?

The new diesels can put out ungodly torque and HP numbers when bombed, Gale banks said the block of the L5P Duramax is stout enough for 1500 horses.

Speed costs money, How fast do you want to spend?

Looks like a genetics experiment gone wrong. But I'm not a truck guy and can't appreciate the manliness of this proposal.

I did the same to my 2013 but am not getting an additional 5-7 mpg from it. More like 2.5 to 3 and that is on the econotune. Maybe I need to see your guy?

The hot tune is downright scary though. I added about 200 hp with that and smoked a mustang GT my son's friend has. He pulls up later and says "well, that was embarrassing."

Come to think of it, that may have something to do with the gas mileage.

I have the same flip back cover too. Those are nice.

Impressive. Hellcat was gaining on him at the end and would have passed him in another 1/8 mile. I have the same problem with my truck. My stock fuel pump can't meet the demand the engine pulls if it goes past 100 mph and it codes out on me. Transmission shifts too soft as well (by design). My buddy told me when I deleted the DEF to not drive it too hard as the transmission wasn't designed for the HP increase.

I have a 5 selection tune knob the mechanic installed. #5 is scary powerful. I usually keep on 4 for highway use and no higher than 3 if I’m towing anything. I have a small farm, hooked up to a full 2600 gallon water trailer one day. Forgot to take it off 5 and almost twisted the frame....

I have the same 5 option tune knob. 1 is supposed to be stock, 2 is for towing, 3 is economy, 4 is street tune, 5 is drag strip(hot tune). You can tell 3 is the economy tune as it feels pretty slugish. I have put 1/4 inch pressure on the gas pedal and run 80 down the interstate. Scary is the term I used for it.

Only thing I have on my Raptor is a Pedal Commander.... there is a LOT I’d like to do to it, but given there is no shop I trust enough for support within 2 hours of here, I’m just keeping it stock.

I commute about 25 miles to work, mostly interstate. You merge and go from 65 to 95 in about 2.5 seconds and know there is a lot more left between the pedal and the floor.
I’m probably going to sell her soon. Trying to decide if I want the same F250 or a long bed F350. Drove the 350 the other day and I loved the ride. I can’t imagine what that aluminum-framed truck would be like if I tuned it the same way. Probably like riding on a bullet.

I still have my 2018 Titan and love it. It's like driving around in my living room.

I also have a light foot, and get 19 MPG with it.
