You seem pretty sure of that. Here in this same forum we’ve got posts pointing out that you don’t teach a child to swim by throwing them in the deep end - yet that’s essentially what was done to Franks, given the known fact that Mac and Nuss were beyond incompetent at developing quarterbacks.
And then there’s Trask, who not only had no coaching prior to Mullen arriving, he’s also had no snaps. You’re awfully quick to just write these two guys off as failures. Considering our relatively easy schedule this season, we may not suck as bad as you think.
That is the only reason we may go 8-4 this season. You can't coach the crap Franks was doing at QB. I have never said too much about Trask except that it would be hard to be worse than Franks.
I will post some examples here of teams in similar situations to us and what their recruiting looked like in the coach's first class he had the whole year to work on the recruiting.
