Have to agree. Give it 5 years and Big Time football will be its own entity. NCAA will be for the Title IX sports.

Next colleges will need to pay alll student who attend because letting someone benefit from their name or likeness is not treating all students equitably and, definitely, not fair to lesser known students.

The NCAA has been a dying entity for decades, a billion dollar company that hasn't changed with the times.

Kavanaugh sealed the deal with his added opinion.

It might give rise to a new organization that can keep the amateur game alive. If not, might cause a split, smaller schools can't pay/compete with the major programs.

Might be better for us, with our current AD and admin, we had already started down the road to mediocrity.

The resident lawyers will no doubt really dissect this, but I don't think this will "end college athletics." In the courts opinion, written by Justice Gorsuch, the article noted,

"Gorsuch made clear that the athletic organization can still enforce rules that forbid schools from paying students salaries or giving them outlandish gifts to lure them to their programs."

The funny part of this was the NCAA appealed a lower court ruling that they should have left alone. The SC made it even worse for the NCAA.

Everything is going to crap. Pro and amatuer sports, BLM, MeToo, Wokeism, Trans athletes, etc. everything! The NCAA is only concerned with protecting their own thiefdom and the universities are just as bad. When science disputes political correctness, they err on the side of being more woke and invite Greta Thunberg to lecture the masses.

I said it many times...Top Programs need a Commissioner for Fall, Winter, and Summer. Let the programs be funded by Media, NFL, NBA, MLB...etc. Fuchs the NCAA.

Before long school fees will just be part of a contract.

Between this and Title IX...College Sports as we know it is on the way out.

I say good. Maybe this will be the catalyst to stop letting bottom-feeding thugs and criminal dumbasses from getting a free ride to college while actual deserving students get denied admission. Let them form some semi-pro or minor league football league where these guys make peanuts and travel around on sweaty busses like minor league baseball players. Meanwhile, the players that take the field in places like the swamp can be actual student athletes who are just happy for the chance to play football and represent their school as best they can. It'll still be fun and exciting for us fans to watch, and might just remove some of the embarrassment of having some illiterate miscreant representing our school.

I think it's coming...especially with Bowls Dying and expanded playoffs.

I think a Summer League could be successful? A developmental league.
