Regarding the Board's Negativity:
Yes, it's been mainly negative, but I think that's just the result of many of fans' reacting to the program's downward slide (overall) since Urban quit the for first time, and it is somewhat understandable. Still, I think some people have been a little too over-the-top panicky about Mac, and I tend to see (thru orange-and-blue tinted glasses) that the program has the makings for some big improvements. (That being said, another loss to FSUCKS this season, and I may be changing my tune completely.)
When I correctly pointed out (on many occasions, and many years ago) that Foley, Urban, and Muschamp had broken the Program, I was told to drink bleach, I was banned from posting, and (worst of all) I was accused of being an FSUCKS fan. That was back in the days (before this board) when it was considered blasphemy to say anything negative, and fans were completely delusional about the state of the program (political commentary deleted). Those days on the board, however, were not an improvement over these days on the board, since people were deluded in the opposite direction.
There needs to be some middle ground, since group-think is a no-win situation for anybody. A board's overall negativity should be tempered by some actual analysis, or an actual view of reality. Are we as good as I'd like the team to be? Hell no, but, that doesn't mean that I don't see some of the good that's happening either, and that I haven't enjoyed some of the wins over the last two seasons. I think that if we can get some consistent, uninjured, and un-suspended, QB play for a full season, that we'd all be pleasantly surprised.
Ultimately, what happens on the field will determine what direction the program and the board are going in. Until then, people should be able to say what they want, but they also should be able to back up their positions with some facts.
Anyways regarding B-Ball: despite the slight stumble at the finish, I'm really happy that we are finally heading back to the Big Dance. Go Gators!
