No one is saying that. I sure didnt. What I said was mullen has to change up how he employs the QB. That happened when he was an OC under Meyer, but I havent found anything where he did it since becoming the head decision maker on a team. Leads me to think he may not want/like doing it. Of course it can be done. Will he do it? And if so will he do it where it works? Those are the questions.
Agreed that Corral probably has to step in and go from Day 1 and at least he'll be able to go through spring ball and summer to get used to it. Hopefully Mullen doesn't scare him away chasing after Fields
So, did we have bad coaching or not?
I'm very confused.
All year I've heard nearly every poster b!tch and complain about how horrible Mac and Nuss were doing at their respective jobs. And if you subscribe to that notion, how then can you turn and be so harsh towards the QB? I understand that Franks looked pretty bad, but doesn't poor coaching affects a player's ability to perform? Especially a Freshman playing in his first collegiate games.
I'm not saying that Franks will grow into an NFL caliber player, but I'm willing to hold off on passing judgement until I see what he looks like with proper coaching. I feel like that about all the players. Mac failed these kids. Let's see what Mullen can get out of them.[/Q

Franks isn't good. Coaching was a problem but f--k sakes they can't throw it for him. How many open WR's did he miss for TD's? That last pass against LSU says it all. Throws into traffic over the middle to 5'6 Brandon Powell, when the easy check down to an open Mark T keeps the drive alive. He can't process information. Mullen talked about being able to process information quickly. This kid probably takes 1 hour to read green eggs and ham.

Let me ask you something, imagine your were a young QB who sat and watch film for hours then got an explanation from your QB Guru, "And yet, its a just hit the open guy kinda deal, i mean you gotta know where your peanut butter is spread, and yet, you have to feel the play, you know what I mean? Dont worry about it. It's gonna be a blast. Kewl?"Franks seems very slow to process anything,.

Does either QB give us a chance to win next year? I’m done with Franks, and Corrall has yet to sign. I think a transfer QB would really help us.
Name and town if you wish to opine.
Oh now it's down to 3 good quarters.......I should have known this wasn't a serious thread.Grier stunk it up in 17 of his 20 quarters and must be a failure too.
