To defunct two of his problems, can anyone work for Al Davis?
I don't think so. He likes to micro manage like WM does. And
USCw has and will always be a problem school. He recruited
well at UT and was starting to win ball games. There is no
doubt he is a great recruiter. NS is laughing to himself and is
having them build another NCG trophy case. He knows he
has a great offensive mind.

OK joe makes some good points but Kiffen' s personna is almost too much for me. SOS walked the walk as a player and coach. I am not sure about LK's history except he has come across as a d bag more than I like. Another thing is with that talent for Bama I think many people could make it look good on offense. He has RBs out out the kazooo and NFL talent on the line. The best WR in conference. Its like coaching UNC or UK in basketball. just dont fck up all that talent and let em play.

For us, Spurrier is great, but for fans of other SEC schools, Spurrier was a jerk. Your perspective changes from where you are standing. Another example is Urban Meyer.

Did you really just compare Lane to Urban and Spurrier? Wow.

Anyways, people hated Spurrier and Urban becuase they kicked their team's a$$es. Lane is a jerk AND a sh!tty head coach. See the difference?

Joe, you make a lot of great points. I think you make the most compelling argument that could be made in his favor. Good job. Really.

However, I'm with the majority who think it's a terrible idea, because of this...

I think he's more of a sleaze because of how he left Tennessee, how he recruits, how he deflated balls during a game at USC, and how he consistently lies. I don't have a problem with the narcissistic sleaze side.

...and because, as others have pointed out, he has failed as a head coach every time he's been there long enough to evaluate. I don't think that everyone who is successful at one level of an organization is able to be successful at the next level up. Even if he gets all of the credit for Bammer's offense, there's no guarantee that he would be successful as a head coach - especially considering that he's been doing this in the structure, discipline, and calculating intentionality of Saban's house.

In short, nice try but I'll let this one pass.
