Although I'm not sure which player it would be, there's a couple of 3* DBs on their roster that might be plan B guys (at best) in 2018.
So a 3* star player was involved? Yep...we we're definitely there after that kid because our coaching love them so 3*'s. As for us being banned from the school...in not sure how mac is going to build relationships when he's getting booted out of the f*cking school! Great job there you arrogant...short...pot belly...yeller tooth...son of a b*tch! Smfh

Yep...by that he means "pay the coach and the kid will follow" ;)
It's more than just that, though it goes on no doubt. Remember that Bammer got caught paying a coach $200,000 in the 90s, and he wasn't that good of a player. Ended up at Memphis IIRC.

WVU and Marshall don't have money. It's the little things, coaching clinics, regional clinics, treating them well even when you can't take a particular kid.

Anybody know whose area that is?

Whoever it is he's an a$$hole. And not because he's talking about Florida.

When a HS coach does stuff like this it's more about him that it is his "concern" for his players. It's a small time guy wanting to act big time by claiming power over people higher up in his profession. This is especially obvious when he takes the time to post it places like Twitter or Facebook. Attempting to limit any player's exposure to possible scholarship offers should be a firing offense for any HS coach.

His team went 1-8 this year....

Mac told Tj Moore that he "hoped to hire someone in a week or two". Way to go out there guns blazing during the hottest month stretch of the year in recruiting Mac

Summers was "forced out" because Mac had a replacement readily available. BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Summers was interviewing. You'd think that would tell Mac that he might need a new OL coach in the heat of recruiting. Naw.

around the water cooler is that this was "unexpected". How is a coach openly interviewing and then getting a job almost a month later "unexpected"?

Probably for two reasons.

1. Our coaches are numbnuts.
2. He's been so underwhelming that they didn't think for a moment somebody else would hire him.

Albert Means was his name and he started his career at Bama but after the $200k payment was discovered, he was allowed to transfer and ended up at Memphis, which is where he was from. He was a great high school player, probably the top D-lineman in the country, HS All American, etc. but he didn't have nearly the success in college that he did in HS.

Ever wonder why Muschamp had more success recruiting than our current coach? (regardless of his poor offensive recruiting)

From SDS:

http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/so...mps-recruiting-strategy-clemson-championship/

“Clemson under Dabo … even if guys don’t recruit our area, they’ll stop by even if we don’t have a recruit. It’s about keeping the relationship, because they know one day we will. South Carolina for the last couple of years under Spurrier, we would only see the coach who recruited our area,” Call said.

“Now since Muschamp’s been there, and he’s been there (just over) a year, I’ve had seven different coaches from South Carolina come through our school, just to meet me, meet our assistants, establish relationships. Because they know eventually, we are going to have a recruit that’s going to play for them and they’re going to want. That’s been the biggest difference.”
