Took a lot longer than 3 man hours, didn't it?

Actually took less, my brother and I knocked it out in about 2 1/2 hours.
It's all prefabbed and studs already in sills. Just back them out an inch and slide em on and tighten, first floor took 45 mins, 2nd was tedious

So, it took 5 man hours.

2.5 hrs x 2 men = 5

5 is more than 3.

You can kiss your top floor goodbye, old friend.

Perhaps not in Ocala, but frame is a construction method that I would never have in Florida. It is very common here and my house would not stand a cat 3 (normal) hurricane.

Reporting from Tarpon Springs. We hung in as long as we could. We've decided to evac to Cocoa Beach. Irma is expected to make landfall as a Cat 4 in Fort Myers, 120 miles to the south. God forbid should it drift further west, it could make landfall here and cause cataclysmic wind and flooding.

I've bragged for years how it could never happen. Well, it's about to happen. Just when you thought you knew everything, you realized you knew nothing.

Be safe. I've heard that more in the past four days than since the day before my wedding.

Before power goes out and we start losing connections to people here, I just wanted to say to the collected GCMB members in harms way - be careful, be safe, be smart, and get back online and check in as soon as you possibly can! I want at at least 98% of you coming back in one piece and causing hell again soon.

In all kinds of weather.......

Is traffic still really bad?

Going out of here? Possibly. A friend went halfway to Orlando this morning. He said the traffic was light. We're headed out about 9 p.m. My guess is most people who were going to evac have already done so. I could be wrong. But you can't find a hotel room from here to Timbuktu, so I'm figuring most people have resigned themselves to hunkering down.

The scene at the Publix here earlier today was borderline panic. Shelves just emptied.

I've taken the advice of the Weather Channel and said my last farewells, tattooed my SS# on my forehead so my body can be identified, and now I'm bending over to kiss my ass goodbye.....:byebye:

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in the state of Florida. Stay safe and hopefully this won't be nearly as bad as it could potentially be.
