Remember, he tore an ACL and was too light to play DE, or even a real Buck. Graduated at 240lbs. Hindsight, too highly rated, but he tore up the All American game. Which is where the TE buzz kept coming from.

It’s always bothered me when people knock Ronald Powell and call him a bust . He led the team in sacks as a sophomore and tore up his knee the next spring . He wasn’t the same after that . He was never a great player but far better
than most give him credit for .

Because if a player was talented, Chimp wanted him on D. Remember, this is the same guy who recruited Johnny Manziel to play DB. There actually was a solid TE in that class; Gerald Christian. After Chimp tried one spring to make a LB out of him, he saw the writing on the wall and transferred to Louisville, where he had a decent career and played a few seasons in the NFL.

Didn't Gerald Christian also help Louisville trounce Florida in the Sugar Bowl that 12-1 regular season?

The Manziel game was played at College Station making it an even more impressive defensive performance by the Gators.

He also wanted Derrick Henry (LB) and Lamar Jackson (DB) on defense as well. Both won Heismans, but chump knew better...

That's what I remember too. Also remember him telling a life long Florida Fan that he'd make him a linebacker at UF and that was Derrick Henry.

Tony's official weight right now is 225. That weight comes from CBN himself. He is being recruited as a tight end, not an OT.

I don't recall what he did in that game, but he was on Louisville's roster by then. He did not have any stats per ESPN.

Christian was a Dwyer kid and went to school with my wife's younger cousin. Total waste/misuse by WM. Pretty sure he was forced to sit out that 2012 season after the transfer. If I remember correctly, he was one of the players who left mid-year and received no resistance. The door was left open by WM to anyone who may have had the slightest thought of leaving, and then he used lack of players as the excuse in 2013. Seriously hate that guy.

And just to add a little more to that 2010 defensive class, what's even more impressive about them is that between the Daz/Meyer year and then WM, they almost never played with a comfortable margin if they led at all. Nearly every game was a one possession game for 60 minutes, so they were never able to pin their ears back and play loose the way defenders under Spurrier and Meyer were. Imagine if that 2012 defense had enjoyed a 20 point lead entering the third quarter more than once or twice in their careers.

Just committed.

"The biggest reason I chose Florida was because of the people at the University of Florida. From the moment I met everyone and all the coaches, it just felt like family. It seemed as if we already knew each other. Aside from that, it doesn’t get much better than the University of Florida. Being able to play in the SEC and the opportunity to be coached by men who have played and coached both in college and the NFL is a humbling experience. I am honored to be a part of the program."
Just not sure if we looking at him as TE or DL.

According to his father he is being recruited as a "hybrid DE/OLB."
