Forget the Doering thing and get back on topic. Any addition fan snobbery comments on it will be deleted. PE busted a nut when he read those quotes.

He’s a very prominent, vocal and persistent cheerleader for the program. Few of our alumni have such a big stage and promote UF like he does.

The SECn round table gives him that opportunity much more than, say, Collinsworth’s role at NBC for example. Tebow doesn’t have to say anything, he’s a walking monument to the program, and he picks his spots well. But Doering takes it and plays it up consistently. (You’d never know Chizik is a Gator except when Doering brings it up.)

Your fan ranking is officially: Informed, Analytical Loyalist. You’ve worked at McDonald’s, yet you still eat the food. You don’t pretend to know much about sales & marketing, but you are familiar with the production line, what good management looks like and the type of people who tend to make good team members - or not. It’s appreciated. (Just my take.)

Mitchell is just right down the road from me, but I really haven't seen Middleburg play much. I always pull for the kids up in NE FL. Having Denson, Webb, and Stokes is nice, but I wish we could have landed Kearney, Pup, and Hall to name a few. With 2 of those being at a position of need for OL and LB.
Webb said on Twitter Spaces last night that’s he will get Hall and Pup in this class.

If we dont get anything other that recruiting out of Webb it may still have been worth his spot. He seems to be recruiting hard.

grades are a concern. but from what I read the coaches told Mitchell there are some things they would like to see him improve on before they offer.

He wants to be a Gator so although he’s sad he’s glad to know what to work on.

He and Stokes said last night that this will be the class that jump starts another NC run for UF.

I don’t know. But that info is from somebody who talked to Mitchell. Can’t remember where I read it.

IMO Baxter is the alpha and we throw everything we can at him.

Here’s a little tidbit for some of you who do not know…

Malik Bryant was mentored by Edgerrin James. In fact when Miami asked Malik to put off his commitment because they were sure he was going to commit to Florida, Edgerrin James stepped in and pushed from Malik to commit at his house.

Here is a little bit of info for you all. It’s a free article.

We could end up with only one true DT (Norman), the two OL commits, and one or no ILB so …. portal then?
Big issues that can haunt a team structurally for 3-5 years(2011-2016)....Players in these positions take 2-3 years to mature and make a difference on the field in most cases. Gotta get at least 5-6 LOS players per class

You know context is everything. I read this post three time wondering what Line of Sight had to do with recruiting. :headslap:

This is exactly why I’ve been harping on the issue up to now despite the great commitments we’re pulling in at wr and cb.

Our LOS play and recruitment has stunk for years with only a few exceptions and is a big reason we’ve seen some crap results against not only teams with elite OL and DL like UGA, but teams like UK as well….

Each cycle that slides by like this is another 2 years at least of an uphill struggle, especially against teams that are a solid two and three deep on the LOS at all positions.

People want to point to where the talent gap hurts the most? Well, there it is, and the last portion of this cycle needs to see that portion of our recruiting go absolutely gangbusters. I believe the staff will get all they can out of our current squad, and I think the worm can turn before Dec on DL recruiting, but I’m not sure what is happening with OL….

Great point. The problem like you stated isn't only like with skill positions where you can get productivity out of freshmen and 2nd year players. Oline in particular takes longer to get quality reps. Like you said the staff will have the 1's ready to go but lack of quality depth on the LOS will make even the most talented skill players and QB's look mundane and on defense it punishes the LBer's and safeties making them work hard just to look average.

Sure hope they can find some big bodies before too long.

USCe Boards are speculating that Jaden Robinson is about to decommit and flip to UF.

He’s the Lake City linebacker
