Our daughter makes custom made notecards and will use a calligraphy pen. @Nalt even turned some wooden handles and sent pens to the kids. They are beautiful. He’s made a few things for us, a couple in orange and blue which probably caused him a great deal of pain.

High end pens with gold nibs are a joy to write with. Use them to sign important docs and write personal letters, in cursive, to show the recipient they are important to you. However, using a fountain pen to take notes or carry in a shirt pocket falls under the low intelligence moniker. Because black ink stains pretty much anything.
