Part of why Penix had picked the Vols was because of a relationship he developed with Nick Sheridan who had been on Butch Kelly's staff. Sheridan moved onto Indiana as QB coach and kept in regular touch with Penix. When Pruitt yanked the offer, Sheridan swooped in. Sheridan, btw, is now the TE coach at Washington.
