Franks or Trask may start the bowl game

Frankly I get both sides of this argument. I just don't understand if he's going to burn the redshirt on either of them or both of them, why in the world would you not do that today instead of the bowl game? The eyes are going to be on us today, not on the Tire King Micanopy Bowl. Why not do something unexpected and bold for a championship game?

I'm sure Appleby will come out and stink it up today and Mac will do nothing different to provide a spark.

Who?

Go ahead and throw Trask out there, nothing to lose, but I don't see how you waste an entire year of eligibility on Franks if he wasn't already ready to go even as recently as the back 1/4 of the season.

Huh? Franks beat Trask out. Franks was the undisputed back up. Trask was holding a clipboard much like high school.

Not to mention, I have a hard time thinking Butters would bench a healthy LDR and AA in the bowl game.

Our head hee haw is stubborn and stupid. Look ofr more of the same today and in the bowl game.

I'm reading some of this stuff in disbelief. Law, have you finally gone mental? I expect total nonsense from Sas, but you? We are looking at a long, long, loooong offseason of misery. Discussing how Mac is on the hot seat. Arguments about how few games we're going to win. Debates on whether or not this is going to be the worst recruiting class in the modern history of the school.

And here we have a chance, a small chance, to actually give the Gator Nation some hope.
Lol. No bro, bringing in a clipboard holder isnt going to change a thing. This offense is MacelNusschamp offense, minus the roided out beasts on the OL and Ingram and Richardson. This is exactly the shyt we hired.

I have great hope. I have great hope about the next coaching hire. We dont know that the new AD is great but at least we know he isnt a proven fvkkup like the last one.

As for QBs leaving early, weve had one in history. Im not worried about that even a bit. I have zero.zero percent concern any of ourbQBs (inckuding Jake Allen) will be drafted at all much less leave early.

They should have done it after the Arkansas game. I wouldn't burn the redshirt just for the bowl game. Franks might get killed anyway if he is still struggling upstairs some.

So why would Appleby start then?
Appleby has thrown 2 ints on 140 pass attempts this season in game play.
Franks threw 4 ints in shared time in a spring game against back ups.
Btw, this isn't an endorsement of Appleby, just giving the stats.

They need to play LDR today so Mac doesn't have any thoughts of actually naming him the starter next season.

It is time to abandon ship on all of the proven failures on offense. It's time to sit down Sharpe. Time to sit down brick hands Lewis. Time to sit down LDR and AA. Time to sit down Nuss. Since the back-ups seem to be playing better than all of the supposedly proven offensive starters, let's just blow up the whole thing and start anyone who has yet to show they are incompetent. Who cares about red shirts when we can't even score touchdowns.

I'm saying go ahead and burn the shirt of the player that doesn't matter  Throw Trask to the fire, who cares.
If Franks wasn't ready to go for the back 1/4 of the season, and he aint ready to go now, then he ain't ready for a meaningless bowl game, you simply don't blow a whole year of eligibility for a game that doesn't matter.

Man, I'd be torn on this. On one hand it burns a year of eligibility for one game which seems really dumb especially when it could have been done earlier. On other hand it gives valuable experience so opening up against Michigan isn't the first game action.

This post brought to you by Captain Obvious.

It wouldn't be a dumb move and this burning a year of eligibility excuse is nonsense. They need to find out if they can play or not and I'm sorry but the whole not being ready reasoning is also a coach's excuse for not doing their jobs in getting them ready. GD, do they not expect to ever play them?

100% agree they should've tried a or both of the Freshmen earlier in the season. USCe would have been the ideal game imo. It was a home game against the least difficult team left on our schedule. It made sense, but they didn't even try. That said, I also 100% agree with Ox that if either of the Freshmen are any good, they won't be here for their senior year so saving the RS is pointless. Burn it and let's see if one of them can provide a spark for the offense. I also agree today would be as good as any day to do it. What do we really have to lose? The game? hahahahaha, yeah that's already a lost cause. Burn the RS, both if you have to. Let's see if those Freshmen are any good before it's too late to show our recruits there's some hope for the future.

If he's ready for a bowl game, then he's as ready as he's going to be TODAY. You wanna burn Franks shirt then do it TODAY. Throw him out there in ATL, Bama won't expect it, and has nothing to go on with him.

Waiting til the bowl game is just dumb.

On more thing, there is probably a good chance we are forced to play Franks today once Appleby gets murdered on the field
