Really? You've come around. You've always hated that offense and he's your guy?
Guys with IT only.come around so often.

Saban has it. Creyer had it. SOS had it.

Frost may have it. He is the only one I see who may have it.

By now, every should be confidant that your analysis is exactly the opposite of what we should follow.
So getting a lot of wins in the conference but rarely winning it isn't an accurate description....got it.

I think he'd be a big improvement over the last 2 coaches we've had. And I think we'd have a really good offense year in and year out. I just don't think he has what it takes to get us to SEC Championships. I think the Saban's, Smart's, and Muschamp's would figure out his offenses and we'd be a 9-3, 8-4, team that occasionally goes 10-2. Yes, it's a hell of an upgrade over what we've experienced since Addazio took over in 2010.

I've also commented that I don't think we're going to pull one of these upper-level P5 coaches. The only way it happens is if that coach really, really wants out of his current situation. It's been suggested that Gundy and Shaw "may" want out ("may", which is pure speculation). Those who want Fuente, I think he'd be a great hire too. But again, he's at a very good upper-level P5 job....and he just got there two years ago. He's not jumping ship. It just doesn't happen in this day and age of CFB. Look at our last 5 hires previous job: Duke, Coordinator, Utah, Coordinator, Colorado State. What part of that says, "We're getting a big name coach from a big name program"?

My only affinity for Gundy came when people were throwing out names and I was looking at records. Gundy is in a P5 conference at what IMO is a second tier school (behind Texas and Oklahoma) but has more 10+ win seasons than not. Five out of the last seven years in fact. So maybe he would get to the next level with Florida's talent and not being the defacto #2 school in his state and #3 in his conference. The Mullet just sealed the deal for me.
Frost may be the next "It" guy tho'. That's a risk that may be worth taking.

And just because we made the mistake of hiring coordinators/G5 guys in the past doesn't mean we should do it again. In fact it means we should not do it again.

He was the guy that everyone waited to see where he'd land as a head coach

... and UCF made a gamble-hire of young, up & coming Frost and now are 8-0 top 1 or 2 in scoring, in total offense, and ranked #18 in the nation. The UCF is brimming with confidence while many of GatorNation fear we might not be able to show Frost that UF is a better place than UCF!

Frost is younger, more energetic, active coach, coaching and recruiting in FL, didn't fail at his last job, experienced and willing to recruit the state and pretty much everyones pick as the best man for the job.

Frost's resume' crackles in that he was a CFB All American QB, got switched in the NFL to DB (tutelage in defense), then superior CFB OC at nationally ranked Oregon with Kelly, then HC of a 2-year turnaround at ranked UCF. He runs on the practice field to demonstrate, to develop, to fire-up his charges. He "lectures" his team on "the process". Then he "in-game" coaches from the sidelines nose stuck in color coded process-notes.

so what is it that you disagree with on comparing Gundy to Richt.
Both won a lot of games, neither won the conference much. Not sure why this is complicated for you...maybe have another drink so you can think more clearly ;)

He has FIVE seasons of 10 or more wins out of TWELVE. That's not "more than not". That's 5/12th's (he may add this year, which still wouldn't be "more than not" - it would be 6 out of 13).

I like the Will Miles article suggesting Shaw, who I think would be a fantastic hire. Might he be available?

Completely different coaches.

Richt nice guy
Gundy abrasive, entertainingly cocky but pisses people off

Richt conservative offense, run first
Gundy pass first, though he does have some power concepts

Richt underachieved with top classes at his state's flagship university
Gundy over achieves at his state's little sister university with no instate talent and living off leftovers from Texas after Texas, ATM, Oklahoma and even LSU get their fill.

I have trouble thinking of anything common. It's a stupid comparison.

Didn't you have us winning 10 games this year?
Based on the weak schedule and prior to the injuries and suspensions I had us at 9-10. But that went out the window after Meatchicken.

I'm sorry that you are too drunk to recognize that i am only comparing their limited accomplishments, and not their coaching style.
