Not mainstream.

Then why did they talk about Frost being the top candidate and barely even mention Kelly?

Doesn't matter that it's a Gator Bait rehash. The subject of the story is ESPN's Chris Low.

As for Frost, because the thing isn't as far along as some of us would have liked to think. Until Kelly's inked, everyone's at play.

I am not disagreeing with the majority of what you guys are saying. Just pointing out that there has been no mainstream media participation in the CK to UF. It has been all twitter and message board fed.

Again, for space we're boxed in -- so think outside the box = build over a portion of the stadium parking lot. What % of that lot would be needed to create 200k sq. ft.? The outer structural can be completed in 9 months with interior refinements taking longer. Interiors won't require exclusion of cars below. "Work it out without sending the message to baseball recruits, track & field recruits, etc. that they don't count at UF. That portion of the parking lot won't be used for 9 months i.e., our home games end in Nov. "Rope it off."

Yeah, but you just don't realize the cost of all those fire hydrants for their restroom.

What parking lot are you talking about? The Odome parking lot to the east with the parking garage is not in play. There are two ways to go: West or South of the practice field. Originally they were putting it west. The baseball stadium is directly south. You can't build there until you take the stadium down. That is the current plan.
If they want to get it done fast they would have to go west to the original location. If they plan on it being larger then they have to take out part of the track which is fine by me and the least disruptive.

My goodness, wouldn't that be the ultimate financial arrangement for Florida? Get his services now, defer payment until later.

There are all sorts of ways it could be structured. There are all sorts of ways the NFL contracts could be written to avoid that kind of slight of hand. Who know's. But if the offset language wasn't carefully written you can bet that part of future contracts for everybody will increase five pages.

Oh, so Chris thinks different about the same subject when he's being interviewed than when he's behind a keyboard? C'mon, that's nonsense.

Aren't the people most likely to get information the guys that cover UF for a living? Other than Pat and Robbie, of course. No one tells them anything.

In other words, I'd trust the word of Thomas Goldkamp on Gator news more than I would some hack like Chris Low.

'46, this and other reasons could be why negotiations are taking so agonizingly long.

Sigh. Was he wearing his suit and sitting behind ESPN camera's when he said it? No. It wasn't mainstream media.

Probably more. UF is all Goldkamp does. Low's all over the place.

The mere fact that you answered that question the way you did negates what you just said before.

How does it negate what I said? ESPN isn't going to talk about CK taking another job somewhere else and put him in a weird spot whenever he's on air.

Jesus man you're just disagreeing with people to disagree at this point.

Yes and no. But your point is going in a direction I wasn't meaning. All I am saying is that there has been no smoke generated by mainstream media. It has been all twitter and message board driven.

Again ... not saying the smoke has no fire ... was just making a comment about the use of mainstream media.

Then we agree to disagree. You think his thoughts are only credible when he's on the ESPN clock. I say he's got an oath to his profession regardless.

At the end of the day, it was Chris Low saying it. You can't deny that.

Many serious newspaper writers also post opinions on the editorial page.
