any chance Torrian Gray would want to come back?

I like him and think he'd do a great job. Word is he's trying to land another NFL gig. But....he did the same exact thing that Warren just did (bailed after one year) - now you can't blame him for bailing on Butters after watching that sinking ship for a year, but he did bail after just one year.

Yeah, Nicky is shaking in his boots at Mullen. Get real.

"It is not enough that I succeed: all others must fail." ~ Genghis Khan

You don't understand how Nick operates. He doesn't simply build his own empire in some vacuum somewhere. He attacks his foes on and off the field: takes their recruits, hires their staff, undermines their brand, attacks their program. He complains about the way they run their offenses and tries to get the rules changed. He seeks asymmetry with all others: systematic competitive advantages, exploited without apology. When a potential challenger emerges, he tries to impede their rise. He has the resources and institutional carte blanche to make all of this happen. Did Meyer's brain get fried at Florida all on its own, or did Nick push him over the edge by consistently targeting and stealing his recruits? And was that or was that not strictly intentional?

Another name is James Rowe for DB coach. Previously was off field at UF and the one who offered Chauncey and Jawaan Taylor (OL). He’s a db coach for the redskins right now (or was)

It will be somebody that Grantham has probably worked with in the past. I am pretty sure that Grantham wants people that he can get along with and trusts.

Meyer's downfall was all his own doing. After all before left he had a #1 recruiting class. The failure rate on some of his highest rated classes was astonishing though. He could not recruit a QB to save his life once Cam and Dan left. The locker room chemistry was toxic and the Leadership Council and their clique was a complete and utter failure.

I understand the napoleon complex just fine, thank you. And for all that hyperbole, you're still wrong. Saban didn't end meyer, meyer flamed out on his own. And for the record, the last time those two faced off, it was in the playoffs, and meyer beat him like a rented mule. It's fine to be excited about mullen and our trajectory without resorting to asinine claims like the man who will go down in history as the greatest CFB coach of all time is scared of Dan mullen.

No, Saban is not afraid of Mullen but he does play keep away with recruits. He knows he can not use all 8 or 9 of the SDE he stockpiled this year.

That wasn't the argument. A lot of coaches do that, has nothing to do with being afraid. Saban does that to every coach possible, applying ministries argument, he must be scared of everyone.

Very true, Grantham is very hard to get along with and is a contributing factor in some of the departures. Getting 750K to be a Db coach might be another. ;)
Yeah, for 750k for Mr. Heave to Cleve, I'd say good riddance. He isn't worth a third of that.

Screw em both. Now get some stud recruiters.

Personally, I prefer stud coaches to stud recruiters particularly at key positions like DL and DB. Now if you want to have a bit more of a recruiting specialists at TE, I can see that.

Either way, this is an opportunity for Mullen to move his program forward. Here is what USA-Today says the market looked like last year:

USA TODAY Sports

Sunseri made $576,500
Warren made $201,500

according to that site.

Warren made that much because he was still getting paid by Tenn.

Not defending Warren, he can fvkk off, but there's not a DB coach in the country that wouldn't make a move for an extra 350k a year. Even when the UAA finally ponied up for Mullen, they went(stayed) cheap everywhere else for their cash cow. Think Browning focusing on pocket knives instead of guns and you have the geniuses that are the UAA.
