I guess I was going back to last year, when you repeatedly claimed he'd never win anything again.

I know you and your wife hate him, which is fine, but that has nothing to do with his golf.
He hasn't won anything yet. His play this weekend has been very impressive.

Woods’ formula for victory back in the day was to overpower the par 5s with eagles and birdies and then play the par 4s to par and steal birdies on some par threes. He hasn’t done that in a while and hasn’t for most of this week. He did better today but will need to get two 3s on par 5s tomorrow to have a reasonable chance.

I agree he's going to have to dig down and have his best round in probably 15 years tomorrow if he wants to win. There is some damn good golfers around him.

I have to say that I would take Brooks Koepka to win if Woods can't pull it off. That guy is like a robot.

Woods ain’t winning tomorrow. He’ll finish close and the media darlings will keep the Tiger train running till the next Major.

You're probably right, but what if he does? Will you kill yourself?

I don't care if people love or hate Woods, having him in the mix with all these younger golfers is exciting and is great for golf. This tournament has been awesome.

He's playing an entirely different brand of golf. He's giving up some distance for control. His swing is no longer violent. It's under control with some rhythm. Putting was great. If he puts up another round like that tomorrow he's got a good chance. As good as the rest of the contenders. We'll see if this was a one off day or he's able to put a similar round together. Some of the guys that are killing the ball are going to wilt. But there are a lot of good players at the top.

Dear God now I'm defending Woods. I need medication.

What's worse is I agreed with an OX post. That's happened once in the history of this board. :headslap:

Anyone who loves golf should be thrilled Woods is doing well.

I'm just saying, but Molinari has had one bogey the entire tournament so far.

Molinari is an Android that simply does not make mistakes. Tiger has to go low tomorrow and hope the weather (if there’s wind) effects the others

Molinari is 36 years old and has exactly ONE major. I'm not convinced that he's unbeatable.

Love him or hate him Woods was the phenom of his generation like Jack was for his and he’s still playing competitive golf against younger guys who model themselves after the Tiger who changed the game in his prime. Furthermore, none of the younger guys have claimed his mantle. Koepka could emerge as the dominant force of his generation but we’ve been saying that about up and coming guys for years since Woods stopped posting wins in majors. Until that happens and as long as Woods is in contention he’ll remain the lightning rod for the game, in part because he’s so mercurial and likely still a douche no matter how much the drama of the last decade has brought him down to earth. People just can’t help gravitating toward dudes who are so extra in every way.

perhaps but he and tiger were in the same group at the open at Carnoustie and Frankie bones won. I am a huge tiger homer and his winning would be transcendent for the game but dang there’s some stallions up there on that leaderboard.

Almost all the big dogs brought their A game. Someone, maybe Woods, will have to be in God mode tomorrow to take this one.

WTF is up with the early tee times tomorrow? The final group tees off about 9:40am EST? Somebody bring me up to speed on what’s going on as I’m in the dark on this.

Bad weather coming in the afternoon.

Groups of three starting off first and tenth tees simultaneously to beat the storms.

The leaderboard for the final day of this tourney looks like a who's who of modern golf. Other than a couple of notables, there are so many big names with a shot at this thing tomorrow. With that and the impending weather and just being the Masters, this is shaping up to be one of the most epic days of golf in a long time. Great for the sport IMO. Bummed that I'll be working tomorrow morning.

Personally I think the field is as strong right now as I've ever seen it. Some of these young guns are just lethal out there. They are definitely playing a different brand of golf than their fathers did.

BTW really enjoying the shot tracer and some of the other tech which lets you see the flight of the ball. I know they've had it for years but they are really doing well integrating it into almost every critical shot.
